UFO’s - Do You Believe ?

Speakers confirmed for the House Hearings on the 13/11

That Luiz Elizondo (former head of AATIP program inside the Pentagon) fella was on Diary of a CEO recently.... interesting listen/watch. Certainly didn't come across as a nutjob.

I'm open minded about this stuff, don't actively seek it out but find it interesting, and of course if offered a full access look at what they have labelled 'top secret' I'd be all over it :)

Look for interviews with Karl Nell and David Grusch, DG was one of the 1st whistleblowers to come out

It may be happening for others though?
I don't think it is, as for most of the univeses life time, most of it has been deadly to life, and it is only recently that things have settled down enough for life to develop.

Then there is the difficulty of actual space travel and the technology required.

Then it maybe the case, that the chance of life reaching a point like us might insanely small... We could be the first.

In Elite dangerous, there is a station called Hutton Orbital. It is 0.22 light years from the Primary star.... In game, travelling at x2000 the speed of light it takes 90 mins to reach.

People just don't understand how hard and difficult it is to travel these distances.

To travel at the speed of light requires as much energy as the universe contains...

There could be pockets of life that have colonised their local solar system.

I just want to throw something in here:
- While I'd accept that life in general is probably quite common within the universe, I think complex life will be much rarer, as you need a very specific set of circumstances for complex life to evolve and thrive.
- The Earth is not only within the perfect zone of orbit around our star for light and heat to be just right for complex life, but the level of mass extinction events on Earth have been extremely rare. That's partly due to the solar system's position within the arse-end of the Milky Way meaning we are distant from lethal near galactic events such as supernova, pulsars etc. but having gass giants as big as Jupiter and Saturn in an outside orbit also acts as a shield against space debris which is attracted to and impacted by the gravity of those planets. Scientists have found it us far more common than first thought to have gas giants within close orbit of stars and rocky planets on outside orbits.
- Then even within complex life, I don't think sentient intelligence is a desirable evolutionary trait. Our brains are so large that childbirth ie extremely risky and carries a high mortality rate for our females (prior to modern medicine). Our young are born helpless and remain helpless requiring constant care for a good number of years after birth due to the fact that we have to birth our young very early in their physical development cycle due to the oversized brains.
- Evidence suggests that human ancestors and modern humans almost went extinct on a variety of occasions and remained critically endangered for 10s of thousands of years.

In my view we are an evolutionary accident and very likely alone, particularly in our local galactic neighbourhood.
