Jamie Donley called up for Northern Ireland. Some might see this as a bit of a backward step, but I’m delighted. Can’t wait to see him play at Windsor!

If that's were his heart is then good for him.

To be honest any of the home countries are the same because the is no real travel involved. Will likely always be in the squad so will get lots of game time which could be good and bad.

With expanded competitions he could still play big tournaments. I'm surprised he did not hold out another year or two but he has been disgustingly overlooked by England at youth level.

Must admit, the media spotlight that the England players get is not always healthy. Just look at what has happened to guys like Madds, Grealish and Rashford. The English fan expectations is also sky high. The NI media and fans just enjoy the ride more.

The problem will be the pressure for Donley to play every minute of every game if he's as good as we think he is. Like we saw with Davies earlier this season, he barely played for us and then had to play 2 full games for Wales.

Might play more minutes in internationals mid season but with NI maybe less likely to play the tournaments which will result in more summers off. Hopefully though he can play a role in leading them to a few.

Jamie Donley off the bench on 56 minutes to make his senior international debut. Game tied at 1-1.
I’m just home from the game. Jamie played a couple of nice passes and nearly scored from a near post header from a corner, keeper tipped it over. Great to have him.

Spurs should have a look at Isaac Price, 21 year old, West Brom. Scored a lovely free kick. He has 7 International goals already. Should actually be 8 as one was credited as an OG, bounced in off the keeper.

Highlights NI v Switzerland

Northern Ireland hammered 5-1. Couldn’t cope with Isak. Donley didn’t do a lot, don’t think number 9 suits him at all.

Isaac Price, who I’ve mentioned before, scored again. 8 international goals now and counting, still only 21.

It's experience for him.

Lucky goal for price but he seems to be a player who has something. One to keep and eye on
