U23s, Academy and Loanees

Spare a thought for Reo Griffiths. Remember him? He has moved from Lyon to Doncaster.

Edwards seems to be getting on though. Going to sporting is a good move for him. Big Lisbon club with a lot of history. If he can do well there and in Europe with them we might rue him leaving.

Hope he makes it and is making a better show of it then many of us thought, but he would never have developed with us. Young players need minutes.

He had a very poor season long loan in Holland as well. Some players need a few years to get used to men's football.

Must be quite a tough decision to make whether to leave a prem club academy and go off into lower leagues or stay.

Hopefully he's realised the game goes on when he hasn't got the ball. Tremendous talent but poor attitude. Takes some kids a long time to grow up.

He had a good game by all accounts. Whether he will keep it up as the adrenaline is less game in and out, and the opposition are prepared, will be the acid test. But he doesn't lack application and hard work. So most managers will be happy to have in the team, as he contributes all over the pitch and can unlock a defense.

So he was just out of form when ever he played for us then?

not easy for a 20 year old to hit the ground running in a new culture, with changing management. But he showed he’s got some ability. Spanish football is more comfortable for him and he probably gets more space on the pitch too.

I think we've loaned him back to Spain to fatten the price up for a sale back to Spain in the summer.
