U23s, Academy and Loanees

Get him back, and see if we can get him a loan down the league

If not, then the academy and settled in England

He definitely seems like a trier but could do with getting some goals to go along with the effort.

I am in agreement about a loan to an English club being more productive, the question would be whether it's championship or league 1....

I would go league 1, for the reason you say. He needs goals. Let him get his confidence back up.

The guys never taking that as a loan
He came from a top division in Argentina where he played games
I agree he needs a better loan though

But who in the championship will take that loan?

He has scored 4 goals this season, 3 being against a lower league team in the cup
2 goals the year before, 1 in the pl, and 1 for the academy.

No idea
But as a player it’s happening
Someone suggested we also send Dragusin to the championship
These players are elite and have high expectations
That’s never happening

I mean the suggestion that a player who come from serie A for 22 M would be happy going on loan to that level

Sometimes you need to do what you need to do.

Veliz is a great example. He has it all to prove in my mind. He might have come from Argentina with a decent price tag and be playing in La Liga, but he's barely hit the back of the net for 18 months. Is he operating at La Liga level or is he a victim of them being bottom 3 and only scoring 16 goals as a team?

As for Dragusin, I think he's been a bit of a rock lately for us. He seems limited in some aspects of his play, but he stands tall at the most important thing. Gonna get interesting next season when we're fully stocked.

TBF the managers aren’t always playing them

I'm on the fence with this one. We've all seen what a club like Fulham did to Sessegnon in those same years where we loan players.

We want them developing by playing, but we also want the physical ramp up that goes with it.

The not playing thing is annoying though.

Fulham owned him

Yes, but Sess was playing at a level where if you're that good then you will get massively overplayed during a critical age for your body. They didn't give him any rest from 16/17 because they thought he didn't need it at the time and saw the PL millions. Then the downstream issues occurred because of the workload at that tender age.

That could easily happen with one of our young players, loaned or not. In fact Gray has come off the back of a 50 game season at 17. If he continues at the rate we've been using him recently, we'll take him right into the red zone and could see him struggling in a couple of years. I'm sure everyone will want him starting games in centre mid when the seniors are back. I'll want him on the bench.

Spurs are generally pretty good at managing the health of our youngsters though.
