Transfer Tittle-Tattle

Sampdoria standout
Andersen, a 22-year-old Danish youth international, is widely-regarded as one of the finest young defenders in Serie A.

The stopper made the move to Sampdoria from FC Twente in 2017, after coming up through the youth ranks of the Dutch outfit.

After a difficult debut campaign at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, during which he managed just 6 league starts, Andersen has since gone on to establish himself as a near ever-present in the backline of the Blucerchiati to this point in the current season.

All told, the 6ft4 inch Dane has racked up 24 starts across all competitions. In fact, Andersen has failed to earn a starting berth for just 2 of Sampdoria’s fixtures thus far this season.

Spurs bound?
As such, the increasingly-impressive showings of the talented stopper, who has also been widely-lauded for his abilities on the ball, have unsurprisingly led to Andersen being linked with a potential Samp departure this summer.

In Italy, the likes of Juventus and Inter Milan have both been named as keen admirers of the former Twente man’s talents.

I could see Grealish, Bowen, Soler and Mitrovic spearheading Stokes attempt to return to the EPL in about 2 seasons' time.
I think Grealish, Bowen and Mitrovic will all be playing PL football in 2 years time (Mitrovic probably for one of the bottom third). Grealish and Bowen both have high potential but are unlikely to get too many chances to play for a club of our standing and the pair of them might be better served signing for a West Ham or Bournemouth tyke club.

I would be happy for us to take one of the two however and of the two I would pick Grealish as i think we’re more in need of a player in his position.

Soler is a good player. I think he’ll still be playing in the top 6 of the Spanish league in two season’s time.

Not thrilled with Bowen or Mitro, but Soler looks like a star in the making and Grealish would be a solid squad building signing with the potential to really improve under Poch. Think that's harsh.

Poch was spotted watching ndombele tonight
Unfortunately I think Lyon's best players will be too expensive for us now. We either have to nab them before they go there or at the very least after a single season of promise and not after they have proven themeslves with a second good season. Unfortunately signing a player on a single season of promise can result in N'Jie's and N'Koudou's.

I think we would be best served by looking at players from clubs, perhaps with with less money, but who like to play a pressing game. Redbull Salzburg have impressed me over the last couple of years in the way that they play and probably have some players worth picking up, Leverkusen are another team that would be worth raiding, perhaps Schalke (even though they haven't had a great time of it in Germany this year and got trounced by Emirates Marketing Project). Otherwise we could do worse than having a look at either/both of Leeds/Norwich should they miss out on promotion. Belgium is another place worth looking as there is a reasonable amount of young talent there and the players seem to adapt pretty well to England.

Looking at our squad compared to the other title contenders I think it is really just at full back and the centre of midfield where we are weak.

Of our fullback and (non attacking) central midfield players there are only two players that i think would get a place in the starting 11 of the top teams and they are Victor Wanyama and Danny Rose, the problem being that both of those need to be fully fit to play at that level and with neither of them seeming to be anywhere near full fitness for nearly two years I think it is probably reasonable to assume that they are unlikely ever to get there again. I feel that the rest of our options in those positions (Davies, Aurier, Trippier, KWP, Dier, Sissoko, Winks) are at that level between first team player and squad team player for a club at the level we want to be - i.e. winning titles.

IMO we need to be purchasing a new first choice right back, new first choice left back and two first choice central midfield players if we really want to have a chance of winning any of the major trophies next season and that's before we factor in the possibility (probability?) of losing two of our first choice players in Alderweireld and Erikksen.

I'd take Max Aaarons and Rico Henry as fullbacks, they would give us back our pace out wide and could easily become a Walker and Rose of 4 years ago type pairing. The club could probably fund the pair of them just by selling Rose or Trippier. Central midfield is harder however. If we could somehow sneak in and nab Tielemans from Monaco ahead of Leicester then that would be great (and might not even be that expensive). Not sure who else we could get though?

Who is Julio Cesar Torres? His agent reportedly said on tv that the player is joining us but I have no idea who he is. Anyone?

The are a lot of good top level players who have started in the championship, I like the look of Lookman at Everton think he could do a job and offer us something. Most important thing is going for players that the manager wants. I dont think Poch wants to go for young players from the championship anymore.

How about players who are getting promoted

With full-backs/wing-backs absolutely crucial to the way we play, I agree with you that it is essential we get strong, fast, athletic full backs that can deliver a final ball. Don't forget Sessegnon. I think he could still be shaped into a good player for us, although Chilwell would be my first choice and probably Wan- Bassaka on the right. We should also be in for Rice - although it is doubtful that Spammers would sell to us.
