I wish we'd say those 'silly money' wages for bonafide world class or near-world class players...

But are the likes of Gil, Solomon, Davies, Bissouma etc really on "silly wages", though?
I bet they are earning more than the vast vast majority of players in world football
palace now have apparently more players than us on over £100k and so do west ham according to our fans
wages clearly matter but it has to come from somewhere
My expectation was this window was the one where we started to add the star dust signings
Kudus and Pahlihjna are getting there to that bracket

lol - I think there should a season long competition for the best "If Ange were still in charge" comment.

I just set the bar low deliberately with that one. Nothing is ever won in pre-season :)

It's not about ange, it's about this perception that one change and everything will be fine.
Get rid of Poch and this squad will improve.
Nuno doesn't know what he's doing.
Swop out royal, or reggie, or Sissoko or soldado or any number of our players over the years.
A new dof, a new recruitment agent, a new owner.
Well other than a new owner we've tried all that and guess what, it's never worked.
It is not one, it's multiple things.
Changing ange, and I was all for changing ange, was never going to fix all our issues, despite what plenty of people were saying in February and March.

What you say is obviously so true. Is it perhaps human nature that some people want single root causes to focus on in life? It's definitely not my way of thinking.

Mostly agree, but I doubt we will perform as badly in the league this season. Hopefully Bayern is a preseason outlier.

Preseason is meaningless, even the PSG game in my opinion is nothing more than a glorified friendly, but I'd be willing to bet many of those who poo pooed our winning an actual bona fide trophy moan like fudge if we get beat in a nothing "final".

It's an opinion. My assumption is that it's the opinion of the people inside the club who work with such things, including Frank.

He has good pace and good athleticism, seems to have really good ball striking technique and good close control, can dribble a bit. I really like his profile and I kind of struggle to see what's not to like about him. But there will always be uncertainty of course.
I’m with @djp82 on this. I don’t get the signing - as I posted when it was done.

We already have Odobert as the young player in that position. There was also Moore and Solomon (but i won’t dwell on those).

The signing to make was Eze, Cunha etc. 30m + 30/40 gets you that match ripe player that would lift the whole squad. Both could play central also.

My thoughts on why we signed Tel….business decision. Minimum downside. Big upside if he did come good.

I’d be amazed if Frank had anything to do with it.

Ps. Pace and Shooting look suspect to me. On the day we took him on loan my son (football boffin) told me immediately he’s not that quick.

I will just say he looks to have a great attitude.

Hopefully we can just declare you the winner because there won't be any others...!!!

Richi won't leave because we won't sign somebody else and tell him he's not getting a squad number. He'll therefore stick around and get minuets whenever he's not injured.

Agreed.
If we're not going to do something wildly ambitious, then I have no issue sticking with Richy as a LW/CF option/rotation but only if we can actually get the f*&*ing ball to him!!! Let's face it, against Bayern you could've had prime Shearer at ( and he'd have got next to f&&k all because we simply did not create.
