Transfer Rumour Thread

I would not be surprised if Ade hits some imperious form in the back end of this season. So, so glad we played Palace last weekend and don't have to face him this season.

Regardless of any fitness concerns, when Ade is motivated we all know he is one of the best strikers in the world.

I don't know. I'd rather us sign a cheaper striker that would be happy to play second fiddle to Kane. Less pressure to perform immediately, and the media can't use the price against the player.

Poch and his team has shown us time and again how they turn promising prospects into top notch players, so no need to overpay for players that are already branded as the next Messi or whatever.
Any striker that we are expecting to produce when Kane is out will likely not come cheap. And if he is cheap, I would question whether he is a better option than the players we already have in the squad, such as Son, Chadli, etc., strikers though they may not be.

Palace have to play Leicester and Liverpool at home and United, West Ham and Arsenal away - hopefully he'll help them knick some points in those games

I would imagine that we held the deal up on purpose.

The very least Palace could have done for us after crocking Verts.Good day for the club good money for Townsend and no longer having to subsidise Ade.

We can all but hope, but realistically knowing Pardew he'll turn Ade into solid brick like he does all his strikers after a while....i mean ow many strikers does he have at Palace now?

He's not our player since September, so not much we could do to hold anything up.
We might have released his registration as a player but we were still paying him £100k a week. I would be very surprised if the deal that resulted in us releasing his registration had a clause that we would stop paying that money if he registered as a player elsewhere.

Now Palace (nor anyone else for that matter ) were never going to pay Adeabyor the same £100k a week that we were paying, so any deal to sign Adebayor was going to result in negotiation of settlement that we would pay him.
