Indeed, can't fault the defence, Skertl and Sakho are the best defenders in the league after all. And as soon as Sturrige is fit(tm) they have the best striker as well.

Was he any good? I missed the game.. I started a thread on here just before he signed but its now closed for some reason (really annoying when threads are closed but no reason given). I would have liked us to have took him and given us a different option I don't see in our squad currently.

Pretty simple really, he signed for another club. No longer transfer forum material. Thread will still be there if he becomes an option in the future, but I highly doubt that.

Thanks for taking time to answer. Can I ask what the thinking is behind closing such threads though? Surely a discussion is good for the forum (regardless if the player has moved on), and if there is nothing left to say the thread dies naturally.

Quite often the thread does not die as there's always someone looking to get the last word/talk about how we should have signed him (Benteke signing for Liverpool was a wonderful day indeed ;)). I'd even like threads to have a credible rumour behind them before they're started, but have been quite lenient on that so far.

Looked handy and pulled a good save out of Vorm early in the second half. Commentators went a bit overboard but he's definitely a good player.

@Ginola99 There's nothing stopping you start a new thread on him in General Football.

I've been impressed with him over both FA Cup games. He's a bit raw but looks like a decent prospect.
 
Gray looked good and he'll probably get better with time. The one I would like us to go for is Sunderland's Duncan Watmore. If they get relegated, we may have a shot at him. He's looked really good the 2-3 times I've seen him, very high energy, tracks back, and is a bright kid too (college graduate).

And Henderson is one if not THE best midfielder in the world according to RAWK. Infact they're all world class. They beat Exceter 3-0, you know.

he is a genuine prospect and would look to me to be a player who would thrive in a better footballing side like us but I doubt he would get near the first team yet

He's a trier alright, but I don't see much quality there. Even the Sunderland die hards aren't going completely OTT about him any longer.
 
Gray will go down the path of all young, quick, direct, English wingers and not live upto the hype. He will turn out to be a decent player but nothing more.
