Tottenham vs Wycombe / Luton

Who is calling Frank to go?

There is a lot of work still needing to be done.
Defensively we look a lot more organised, but in the final 1/3rd we lacked a lot.
The attack hasn't actually been good for quite a while. Under Ange that was masked largely by how aggressively attack orientated and unbalanced his system was. As I said at the time we scored a lot because we over committed and thus we conceded a lot. In a more balanced system the lacking quality of many of our attackers is going to be more evident.

And as a long term foundation conceding less first is the way to go. Be difficult to score against, have structure and then try add goals.

Especially if the quality of your squad isn't as good as it could be.

Indeed we had to over commit because of the quality of our forwards. I hope the players step up a level this season.

Defence without attack will get you relegated. You need to attack to get 3 points. A solid defence without attack gets you at best 1 point.

Wow there are some lightweights in our supporters, of course it was not a good performance but it gave a lot of players some game time. The result in these games does not really matter that much it more important to get some fitness into our legs.

Sad to say but some are really going overboard about our performance.
Well said. Some of our fans are impatient.

It's a continuation from what many said last season, it's not some realisation from a couple of friendlies - I don't know why people have to make up their own narratives as if anyone is judging solely based on a friendly.

There are a good few players who aren't good enough and over rated on here, the argument that it was just Anges poor coaching is already/will be exposed to be nonsense. Yes of course the primary focus is fitness, but it's not as if Frank isn't asking them to play football and just telling them to run.

Had we played glorious football and scored a load of goals, people on here would not be going on about how it's just about fitness - they would be celebrating the football and what wonderful things Frank is doing.

We could have won the friendlies yesterday 5-0 and it wouldn't of changed anything - our midfield and attack is lacking big time if we want to compete, especially with CL football to contend with aswell. Let's hope there is plenty of movement soon.....

I've said the same every summer. I know @parklane1 has aswell.Preseason results are meaningless.
We should always look to upgrade our playing staff. Or improve the way we play. No argument from anyone.
We will or we won't. Not up to us that's on the club.

So then what's the debate about? Literally no one has complained about the results, no one. No one has taken a pop at the manager. Simply that it's still evident players aren't good enough and there's no hiding behind Ange anymore and that it will be exposed further.

If Levy was serious about challenging for top honours we have a hell of a way to go and a lot of investment to do, the punting on a load of young players supplemented by signing one 50-60m above average player from the PL is not going to be anywhere near enough....

I genuinely dislike some of our fan base, i know social media is not the best place to judge our fan base but people moaning about the friendlies today are pathetic. Anyone who thinks this should have been anything more than fitness is deluded.
Don't take social media so seriously, it's bad for your health!

Very often context is missing and a comment can apply to the player, his performance generally, or specific to some minutes or evend seconds in a game. A lot of misunderstandings occur because of this

Levy hasn't got money to invest. If you want new owners great. So do i. Until they turn up we have to get on with what we've got.

Sure. But you're changing direction from the 'people are over reacting to a pre season game' comments. People were commenting on what they saw in the game from the players, the same as what they've seen with the same players many times before. The new owner thing is a different debate...
