*** Tottenham Hotspur vs. Leicester City *** OMT

worryingly, I can't remember the last time we did the double on Leicester...

On a more positive spin, we played and beat Leicester in the League Cup final in 1999 and they did the league double over us in that season...perhaps we can sort of get the reverse of that this season.....COYS

Hmmm, not sure about experimenting with a diamond formation tbh. Especially if it'll involve dropping our 2nd highest scorer in favour of Ade or Soldado'h plus our other winger in favour of a holding midfielder, when we're playing at home to a team who'll probably spend most of the game sitting deep.

I can't remember the last time we got 6pts against the Foxes either... turns out it was the 1986/87 season in which we beat them 2-1 away and then 5-0 at home, hopefully a good omen!

Ive never rated him, I seemed to be the only one for a while but I think people are starting to realise how bad this guy is. I really think he's pretty awful to be honest, work rste, effort blah blah blah the guy isn't good enough defensively, not creative, awful shot, he offers nothing and is not close to the standard we need.

Well I do not think he is a bad player, however I do think there is a lot of rose tinted glasses when fans rave about him.

If Pochettino start exactly the same team that started against ManU, then people will start to lose the confidence in him. Surely, you need to make changes to the team that have just put up one of the worst performance around. I will be very annoyed if Mason and Bentaleb start together in midfield in this match.

When you say "people" do you actually just mean yourself?

The proof will be in the performance, not who Pochettino picks. If he chooses the same 11 and they perform really well I don't think anyone will start to lose confidence because of it. Poch will know how the players have responded to the United disappointment during training this week. He will have a decent idea who he thinks will bounce back with a good performance and which players from the squad could be improvements in some positions.

In theory I wouldn't mind a "that was awful, everyone could see that was awful, now go out and prove to everyone why that was a one off and that you're much better than that" unchanged team. In reality I would like to see a couple of changes, but nothing too drastic.

I really hope Mason and Bentaleb start.

Why do people want to tear up the team after a bad performance v Utd away, when the next game is against the bottom side at home? It would seem an ideal opportunity for them to bounce back. We need cohesion and understanding as a team. It's not the end of the world to not get a Champions League place and we're not getting relegated. So surely, the best thing that we can get out of the remainder of this season is for our young players to further develop as individuals and as a unit? Don't waste remaining minutes on sh1te like Soldado please.

Let's sort out or defense shall we ? Midfield to chip in, yeah ? Fed up of giving space and soft goals. Scoring is easier for us, but we need to rebuild from the back.

I'm looking for a win and a clean sheet.

I agree. Some of the knee-jerks on here about dropping various players has been ridiculous

I agree with this for the most part but a little tweaking here and is required IMO.

We were overrun completely against Utd and so adding a bit more defensive nous to the starting lineup would give us a better platform in this game. I fear an early goal against us would be body blow. And if we concede two goals I think the 2nd may be a knockout puch. Although I am running the risk of sounding like AVB, I would like us to sacrifice some attacking intent for a more patient, pragmatic approach in the early part of the game in particular. I would like us to recycle possession more than we have been to build our confidence back and for that reason I would sideline Townsend and Chadli who cough up possession with alarming regularity and who have been poor of late in helping the defence .

one bad day in the office - it happens to the best of us.

Thanks for saving me the time typing fellas. Agree with all of the above COYS

After the humiliation to ManU, not sure what kind of response we get from Pochettino and the players. That defeat have made our top 4 aim near impossible as we are now 6 points behind 4th place with only 9 games remaining. The only chance we have now is by winning all our remaining matches and hope all our rivals drop points. It is going to be very difficult but we should take game by game, starting with the Leicester match. We have had mixed results against Leicester in recent times. We beat them in the league earlier in the season but then disappointingly lost to them in the FA Cup. We have a poor record at Leicester, winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 5 of our last 8 matches in the league. Let's hope the team will turn up and get the revenge for that FA Cup defeat.

The last time we won at Leicester, we had to come from a goal down to win 2-1 in 2004, through a brilliant goal by Mabizela. Let's hope Kane will be inspired by Mabizela to start anorher goal scoring run in away matches. Kane had almost a perfect goal scoring record in away matches until the ManU game. We badly need Kane to find his goal scoring form again as we don't have too many goal scorers now. Eriksen scored our winning goal when we beat Leicester earlier in the season. But disappointingly, Eriksen has not scored in 9 matches now. How great it will be if Eriksen can rediscover his goal scoring booth in this match. Chadli is another player who badly need a goal as he only has 1 goal in 13 matches.

We really need to make changes in midfield in this match. Will be very disappointed if Mason and Bentaleb start again in midfield after their poor performance against ManU. It will send a bad message to the players that they can play badly and still keep their place in the first 11. Want to see Stambouli and Dembele start in midfield as they have not played much recently. Afterall, we need a defensive midfielder like Stambouli in away matches. Also, want to see Lamela start in place of Townsend. I think Lamela provides more attacking threat to us than Townsend.

Annoyingly, our defending have been very bad this season. We can't seem to keep a clean sheet nowadays. In fact, we have not kept a clean sheet in 9 matches in all competitions now. The last time we kept a clean sheet was against WBA when Vertonghen and Fazio played in defence. For some strange reason, Fazio has not played a league match since then. And we have conceded 17 goals in 9 matches since then, including 12 goals in the last 6 matches. After his shyte performance against ManU, surely Dier should not play in this match. Fazio deserves to start with Vertonghen in this match. Lloris and the defence badly need to keep a clean sheet for once !

Can see this match being a difficult one. Leicester are bottom of the league and are desperate to win to avoid getting relegated. We need to recover quickly from the ManU humiliation to get back to winning ways. Hope the team turn up, put up a good performance and get a morale boosting win !

Any team news yet ?

Will be very annoyed with Pochettino if he doesn't make any changes to defence and midfield in this match. Hope we will turn up with the right mentality and get all the 3 points !

No excuses today. We are at home against the team rock bottom of the league marooned 7 points adrift from safety. We've had a weeks rest, a weeks focus and a weeks training to rectify what went wrong last week. The manager and players need to respond positively. No excuses today. None.

i want the same players who started united to start this game just to see who is capable of responding positively.

31 of our last 44 PL wins were by a 1 goal margin and 9 of our last 12 wins were won 2-1.

5 of the last 7 v Leicester in all comps ended 2-1

2-1 Spurs is best price 8/1

Well I've seen Rebrov score live so I think Soldado and Lamela is not that out there :)

Rebrov got berated for getting 12 goals. And none of them penalties. But Soldado gets less of a hard time than he did. And he only scores pens in the prem basically.

The players are effectively playing for a place in next season's team now. Can the midfield and defense, as a unit, keep a clean sheet? Will Leicester be able to do what others have done successfully: defend well, suck us in, then hit us on the break?

We should. Getting the first goal might be tough. Eriksen to get it.
