*** TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS Carlisle United OMT ***

Supporters car park closed tonight

The heavy rainfall of the last few days has taken its toll and has put our supporters car park out of action ahead of the visit of Tottenham Hotspur tonight.

The heavier than normal deluge has left surface water on all of the club parking areas to the northern side of the flood defences.

Fans are advised that there are NO general parking facilities available for tonight and it is advised that alternative parking arrangements are finalised well ahead of kick off for what is going to be a very busy game.

Parking season ticket holders will get their parking place at the stadium as normal on production of their parking pass.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

As usual the playing surface is in tip-top condition - HURRAH - and the game will go ahead as planned.

I'm not surprised. Raining again now with thunder thrown in.

Gonna be a wet night me thinks, plus lots of fun trying to find somewhere to park

I'm not sure, thought I read we sold all our allocation. May be worth giving the ground a call

You can pay on the door but it's a 2 1/2 hour drive from Leeds and the roads over the Peak District will probably be dodgy.....plus they just closed the car park......someone is trying to put me off!! I think i'll listen to the omens!

I did hear the rumour yes, I just think that its Carlisle, capital one cup, we have Gomes and Cudicini doing nothing at the moment, it seems like a chance for them to get games

What would be the point of getting them games since neither of them feature in our plans and will most likely leave in January (Gomes at the very least)?

We also have a top class keeper who desperately needs game-time and opportunity to gel into the team and within his team-mates. So what better opportunity than a cold rainy late night in the North?

Sorry, but this is a no brainer for me

I'm with you on wanting Lloris to start, in fact I want him at Old Trafford, the guy is a match winner. But playing him in a game with a team that is barely second string is hardly him getting used to his team mates and gelling with the team.

FREUND ON CARLISLE

Steffen Freund insists the team’s attitude has to be - and will be - right as we travel to Carlisle in the Capital One Cup tonight.

We make the long trip to Cumbria for a third round clash against a Carlisle side with just two defeats in nine so far this term.

Assisant coach Steffen faced a few similar ties during his time as a player at the club – coming through cup matches at the likes of Brentford, Tranmere and Leyton Orient – and knows exactly what’s in store at Brunton Park.

“It will be a difficult game and the game of the year for Carlisle,” said Steffen. “They’ve already beaten Ipswich in the last round and now Tottenham arrive.

“I have to say that the players’ attitude and performance has been so good in the last few weeks and we have to keep that going.

“There will be changes, but the attitude has to be right. If we do that, we have the quality to beat Carlisle, for sure.”

Steffen described Sunday’s first home win of the campaign against QPR as ‘perfect for everyone’.

“We’d drawn twice at home (in the Premier League) and it was important to get that first home win,” he added. “It was also a derby against QPR, so that was special and at 1-0 down, we turned the game around completely with a really good performance.”

I support Friedel not being dropped but not playing Lloris against Carlisle would be stupid IMO.

Indeed. The media may be swooping and of course that isn't a reason to make choices regarding team selection, but I'd find it alarming if Lloris was being outperformed by Gomes or Carlo in training.

This reminds me of the Stoke League CUp thread from last year, no streams/TV maybe it will get infiltrated by Rick Astley again

is it possible to get the match on iphones btw?

Ha ha don't be sillly, RIM paid millions for the rights - they are hardly going to let Apple in on it!

You need a Blackberry Bold or Curve and install the Premier App - assuming you have the latest OS of course.
