TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Blackburn United - OMT

Winning a game by default because the other team didn't show up doesn't make me any more confident for the last three games.

True, but the thing is we have played better than today over the last few weeks with little show for it. Our performances in the league against Chelsea, Stoke, Everton, Sunderland and QPR were all BETTER than today. From a law of averages point of view surely our poor run of results can't go on much longer simply based on the fact we are doing well enough to be getting better results. At least that's what I am clinging too.

Honestly, i'm not bothered if it gives you confidence or not.

It will give the players confidence, and that's all that matters really.

This. Not confident at all for Bolton away a ground where we are traditionally crap. I hope I'm wrong. Soo many things annoyed me today - Walker not one of them nor Sandro both immense. Modric, giving the ball away, lennon not wanting to go past his man. And why oh why is Adebayor always on the wing when he is our only target man. Second half I felt we rarely troubled Robinson we offered nothing in the box for our wide players. One positive is we finally appear to be offering a threat from set plays!

I genuinely believe, and have done all season. Anyone who slags off walker is a complete fudging macaron with zero intelligence and no football brain whatsoever. We can constructively criticise his game yes, he some weaknesses which he has been working on, but his first season at the club, how young he is, what he offers going forward, you seriously have to be borderline departed to truly slag him off.

Gary Neville the best RB ever to play for England and in the PL rates him as the best England have and he has forgotten more than 99% of the board will ever know about football

Walker is young, he has basically had to play every game, he is still learning, has massive potential and will get a whole lot better, but will still make mistakes as all do who play football..

People should be supporting him more really, no need for him to be a spacegoat

Do you just say things to be different?

All I'll say to this is:

a) I don't regard him as young. Young for me is 18 or 19. If a 20 year old pro keeps giving the ball away cheaply then they'll be doing it at 30 too.
b) He scores two or three goals a season. Not sure what else he offers going forward to be honest, as his crossing is fudging atrocious and his passing not far behind.

Because Walker scored a great goal 'the rose coloured glasses' come on and some people started lauding him.

Your comments are a disgrace to spurs fans and general intelligence. You're the type of person who provides fodder for other fans who browse this forum to criticise the fickleness and knowledge of totthenham hotpsur football club

I'll listen to Gary Neville before the ITKs on here about Walker. Granted he's raw but he's got the pace and basics to be very good. Some on here talk balls tbh. He's had some brick games but ffs sake hes young.

No, my views are more balanced. We had chances to beat all them teams and failed to convert, or made simple errors at the back. Today we scored from a long range free kick and a scrappy goal (not that I am complaining). We were at home against a poorer team against any of those I have forementioned.

It never ceases to amaze me how people like performance with results. If we hadn't have scored the free kick, and had Blackburn scored an equaliser from a corner in the very last minute, people would have been saying this was a brick performance, even though for 92 and half minutes the performance would have been identical to what is now perceived as a good performance. It's fudging nuts.

You can be tought to cross a ball with time. Bit like Lennon.

He IS young. You're view on young is utterly ridiculous. He won YOUNG player of the year. And goals aren't the only factor in judging a players attacking display. If you don't think he offers a threat from right back, forces team to accommodate this threat, crosses balls in etc etc Then... well, I there's no point in discussing things with you because you're utterly blinkered. He has faults, he has improvements, but to slate him for it blows my mind.

I bet you love kaboul. The man who loses the ball every time he's in the opposite half, the man who has the calamity in him. I think he's solid defensively, APPALLING going forward, but he's hailed has a hero on these boards. Spurs fans baffle me sometimes in the people they support, and the people they so willingly slate!

The bottom line is we need Walker to be more solid defensively. He is the media flavour of the month and everyone is pouring on the praise. But the bottom line is we are an excellent team in possession and our defenders don't get many chances to fudge up. I've gone through the game today and Walker was caught wrong side of his man 7 out of 8 occasions, and on 6 of those occasions Blackburn got a cross or pass into the box through. Irrespective of whether you rate him or not, that has to improve drastically.

Remember that people, including ex-pro's used to rave about Glen Johnson too.

You must be joking. If I was Manager Forrest, Kaballsup and Clotto would be three of the first players I'd find replacements for!

I sort of agree with you on the fickle spurs fans outlook. But you're sort of worse, that DIDN'T happen and you're complaining!!

He's 10 months younger than Bale who gets a ridiculous amount of abuse and is twice the player.

Lennon is a bad example, because his crossing is poor and always has been. What Lennon started doing, but seems to have stopped doing, was rather than trying to pick out his crosses just get to the byline and drill the ball along the six yard box. For a while that compensated for his poor crossing. His actual aerial crossing has never improved since he first played for us and I doubt it ever will.

What's "fudging nuts" is you claiming we had as much chances when we played QPR and Sunderland as we did today. That's more then fudging nuts.
