Presumably Aurier not considered fully fit.
I don’t follow their lot closely but is it odd that they’re not starting Aubameyang?

Not for us he hasn’t beenDoherty is as much an attacking full back as Aurier
I get it but I haven't seen Doherty as more defensive or solid than Aurier. It seems like Aurier could play that role just as well if not better imo and has done. But hopefully he's right with Doherty and it works well.I am
As I’ve said before he is IMO setting the team up to be slightly more attacking down one side
And to do that he will play his more attacking full back with a less attacking one
Poch did it too when we had Walker
It’s why Walker got tinkled off
I agree with this. Not sure if it’s tactical but Aurier often ends up being an overlapping outlet, to the point where he can be found with a pass between the centre back and full back, Doherty never seems to be in those positions and his crossing has been disappointing more often than not.Not for us he hasn’t been
Strange. Wonder what he did, and why is he even in the squad then?

We can win this but if our defense makes roosterups we lose.Doherty over Aurier? My blood and body just went cold.

I'd guess he was either VERY late for a meeting or broke Coronavirus protocols. Arteta is sending a strong message to the whole squad... but wants him on the bench in case he needs himStrange. Wonder what he did, and why is he even in the squad then?

Good to have Daws in the studio rather than the usual dinosaur duo of Souness and Keane.
