Son's footballing ability seems to have deserted him momentarily. Even his touch has been poor, which wasn't too bad before.
 
This must be the easiest game newcastles defence have had all season.

Just hope we can cling on to what would be a decent point given the fact we have been absolutely woeful in the second half.

Ronaldo is hailed as a great free kick taker, but nobody else that regularly takes free kicks has such a low conversion rate as him. It's all about the sheer number of attempts.
 
Disappointing in some ways that we dont have the skill or quality to create against Saudi Sportswashing Machine. Lucky we arent playing a Palace or a stoke.

Scara was arguing against crosses months ago, but bringing it back to freekicks and corners, I agree that not enough are well delivered, we need to spend more time working on that delivery. Eriksen should be well capable but so, so many are knee high and pointless.

It's what I call the "Match of the Day" effect - the assumption that highlights = the norm.

People see a few corners scored every week and think they're useful, but they're not forced to watch the 150 corners that went to nothing.
