****Tottenham Hotspur v BVB********* OMT Official

If only we were in some kind of period (let's call it a window for ease) where our owners could go out and purchase or loan an attacking player to help the club and whoever the next manager is and improve the standard of the squad
I think Palace are wanting £35m for Mateta.... He's 28 and not exactly world class but he would fit Frank's 2 attacking methods of "hoof it up" or "cross it in" pretty well. If the club want to support Frank then he'd probably be a good option. If they don't want to support Frank (and I can perfectly understand why they wouldn't want to support him) then lets fire him and go again.

Popping you on ignore as you’re not addressing the point.

I’m pro whoever is manager. I’ll back them and support them.

Was this a strange decision by the manager? No. Only if you have an agenda against the manger and want to undermine. Support the team, get behind them, and maybe we’ll play better too,
You'll have nobody left who's not on ignore at this rate! :D

@harr1984 - this is what SpurMeUp does when people disagree with him.... wear it like a badge of honour mate! ;)

I'm sure I see the Solanke selection differently than most others. We are playing a game in which should we get anything other a sound beaten it would be a bigger surprise than the recent Palace defeat.
It's any opportunity to get some game time for our only recognised striker, it may a gamble but our situation is desperate.
Our bench looks like it will be filled with development players and keepers, in an ideal world this would be a good chance for them but given the toxic atmosphere at the stadium it would be a baptism of fire.

Choosing Solanke over Tel is about getting more senior players in the side. And Tel will be fresh with a point to prove on the weekend. Its hardly the controversy many paint. And there is an amazing 'chance' correlation between those moaning about leaving Tel out and those who never liked Frank.

Surely there’s a promising teenage attacker in France or Germany whose contract is running down / surplus to requirements that the transfer committee can buy for a good price though?!

If we stockpile enough talented youngsters (like a bargain basement version of what €helsea are doing) then one of them is inevitably going to develop into the next Bale by the end of the decade, that’s how it works right 🎰 🤔

Yes, it's not like we are dropping a prodigy who's getting a goal or an assist every other game at this point.
If Tel was then it would have been an absolutely mad decision

Yet, I am really positive on Tel. He'll be a key player against Burnley. Hopefully he's burning to prove a point on the weekend. I have been impressived with his game this season. Last season he looked way out of his depth. Idk what Frank has done, or whether Tel has just settled (probaby a bit of both), but this season he's looked physical, good with the ball at his feet. He is just missing cold inciscive finishing. Which I know Frank is actively working on. He's not far from being prodigious talent. And hes burning with desire to make it!

Tottenham predicted XI: Vicario, Porro, Danso, Romero Spence; Gray, Bergvall, Xavi; Odobert, Solanke, Kolo Muani

Evening Standard saying these are available, so guess that's the team, plus a youthful bench.

We have 16 players out, and can still put out that first 11, and you would have Udogie on the bench and people will still go on about how brick the squad is.

We need a couple of elite level players to lift the ceiling but to absorb 16 out and not have to resort to a single academy and/or non international player starting is interesting.
