Chris Cowlin is an author, actor and entrepreneur. Born in London in 1980, Chris has achieved a great deal in a short time. He is the owner of a successful publishing company having had several number one sellers with Amazon, WHSmith and Waterstones, and is the bestselling author of 143 books.
Although he has written on a range of subjects, Chris specialises in football, sport, television, music and pop artists. He has written official quiz books for a number of football clubs including Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Burnley, Heart of Midlothian, Ipswich Town, Norwich City, Queens Park Rangers, Watford and West Bromwich Albion, to name a few. His books have been endorsed by celebrities and sports personalities including Jonathan Ross, Sir Alex Ferguson, Gary Lineker and Paul Gascoigne. Chris's writing credits include the foreword for a book by notorious criminal Charles Bronson, whom he visited in prison, and forewords to published quiz books. He has also written questions for various quiz apps including the award-winning 'QuizUp' and 'QuizFox'.
A lifelong Tottenham Hotspur fan, season ticket holder and regular at White Hart Lane, Chris has penned several books about his favourite football club. He is a collector of all things Spurs related and has one of the best Tottenham Hotspur memorabilia collections in the world. He has played alongside celebrities in charity matches against football legends from Arsenal and Spurs. In 2017, Chris scored a penalty at Wembley Stadium during half time at an England match and broke a finger saving a penalty playing in goal against an Arsenal charity team.
A keen runner, Chris regularly competes in running events across the UK and has raised over £60,000 for various charities. He took part in the 2012 London Marathon and was shortlisted to carry the Olympic Flame in the same year. Chris has taken part in the Gherkin Challenge, running up 38 flights of stairs and has completed an Insane Terrain mud and obstacle run.
As an actor, model and voice over artist, Chris has been involved in over 320 different productions and he has had roles in many UK soaps, playing a CID officer in EastEnders, a school governor in Coronation Street and an estate agent in Hollyoaks. Chris has also appeared in high profile films such as The Theory of Everything, Diana, The Imitation Game and The Sweeney. His personal highlight remains being pushed by Daniel Craig in the London Underground scene in the 2012 James Bond film, Skyfall.
During his career, Chris has promoted his books and charity work on radio and TV channels across the UK, and has appeared in hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. He actively participates in social media, with over 320,000 followers on Twitter and his own YouTube channel which, to date, has had over five million views. He regularly uploads informative videos and interviews which include famous names and sporting celebrities.
Chris currently holds twelve world records, among them a 'Guinness World Record' for helping to build the largest K'nex sculpture and, in October 2014, he was named the world record holder for 'Most Quiz Books Published By A Single Author' by RecordSetter. In June 2018 Chris took 12 days out of his busy schedule to become the first person to visit all 92 football league grounds and run around their pitch or stadium, in aid of his favourite charity, Willow.
A previous school governor, Chris enjoys helping out in local community events. He is a former local councillor, elected in March 2012, after beating both the Conservative Party and the Labour Party. Chris lives in London and has two children, Harry and Aimee.
