Well I never did.

In 1984 I heard the marvellous song Kolly Kibber's Birthday by Our Lord and Saviour J.C. (Julian Cope) i.e. https://genius.com/Julian-cope-kolly-kibbers-birthday-lyrics

And then a few years ago I found out it is a reference to:
‘Kolly Kibber’ is a character in “Brighton Rock” by Graham Greene (also made into a famous film in the 1950s). He’s part of a newspaper promotion designed to make people search for him in order to win a prize.

And now I find out that Colley Cibber was a Poet Laureate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colley_Cibber

The site never fails to amaze and educate. Thank you Whiffy

I'm sure it'll be fine but I can't help but be sceptical of the 'joins' where the three sections align - can't see how it will be unnoticeable

Dovetailed/interlocking joints ??. Perpendicular to the length of the join below the surface, so the soild & turf push against each other.

SWAG on my part.

My main concern is the bounce of the ball on such a thin soil container.
Other than that, proof of the pudding............

For just a couple of NFL games a year why not simply play them on the grass pitch like they do at Wembley?

It's like the football team is being compromised for the sake of the NFL. The NFL surface is whole, permanent and safe whilst the football pitch is cut into 3 pieces, and on trays and rollers to help move it in and out of the ground.
