Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Not so much to see now as the viewing angles are not good.

Why on earth is that ideal?....Surely the ideal is that a successful UK franchise plays there for many years, this generating further exposure and funds for THFC?
Exactly. This is the kind of thing that can elevate Spurs into ManU territory financially. Very shrewd move by Levy.

To stop our pitch being messed up and our identity potentially eroded (2025 we become London McMonarchs FC franchise).

Much better they lose their money on a duff bet, and we are the bookmaker.
Why on earth would the identity of THFC be eroded by a NFL franchise using our stadium?

Why will our pitch be messed up by moving out and under sunlamps for a short period (most of which would be out of daylight hours anyway) while NFL games take place on their own astroturf surface?

None of which appeal as much as a bacon sarnie.

In fact, two bacon sarnies, as DL probably won't eat his.

Kabaddi, for the younger of our members, is a game where the player operating with the ball must repeat the word "kabaddi".

This really does restrict the ability to swear at one's opponent or the officials, so was never likely to catch on.

Truly a stadium sport if ever there was one.

Sounds like you'd be pretty good at it.

I remember watching that on Channel 4 back in the day. There was no ball involved though, it was like a big game of tig.

Distance from front wall to goal line: South End of New stadium - 4.98m, North End - 7.97m
West Ham's is 16.5m

Thanks. Do we know east/west stands distance? I know it is picky but that does sound like a fair bit more than the current distances (are there details available for existing distance?) - looking at various photos of WHL seem to confirm this especially the 7.97m. That's 25ft in old money (the only money I know).

I ask you. How can fickle fans abuse our players effectively if they are not able to shout profanities into the player's ear-hole at point blank range?

Me too, surprisingly compelling viewing, as was the Sumo wrestling. I suspect the commissioning exec wasn't in that much demand afterwards, though.

Can't see it catching on as a family sport.. Hey kids, fancy a game of Kabaddi? ..........(Now where did we put that oxygen bottle) .......That's just not going to wash is it....
Although the ability to talk at length without (apparently) pause for breath, would put my kids in with a shout at pro level, I reckon.
