Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

I am pretty sure Levy will find a way, if there is one, to get Wembley for the season. He plays these games as well as anyone and due to this being very much in the public eye i don't think the money will do all the talking. Lets see

What if Levy wants us to play at MK, and this is just going through the motions for the fans?

I'd imagine MK will be financially better for us - cheaper rent and a much more generous cut of the revenue

cheaper rent, but only 30,000 capacity and there is no guarantee that our fans will want to travel that far for every game. Ticket prices may have to come down as an incentive. Corporate facilities will not be of the same standard either

There is no way MK will be financially better than Wembley

Its up to the FA, they must be seen to be fair (but most likely they dont give a fcuk and its all about the moolah on offer)

As was suggested earlier, why dont we try and move into Wembley earlier, as early as next season? Surely seasons 2016/17 and 2017/18 will give enough time to get the new stadium ready, Wembley will get 2 years rent from us and they can negotiate 3 or 4 years with Chelski for the period after.

I dont see why this season at the current WHL cannot be our last. Fcuk it, weve waited long enough for the new ground, if we can get all the agreements in place and the real work can definitely start by next spring/summer then lets move out asap and give the contractors full use of the area to get working.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has revealed that Chel53a have made a four-year bid to land Wembley as their temporary home at a meeting with Spurs supporters.

That will only further damage the chances of Tottenham playing at Wembley for a season, with Chel53a insistent they are not interested in a groundshare and effectively offering four times the amount Spurs would pay for a single campaign.

While the ‘per season’ bids of Spurs and Chel53a for Wembley are thought to be at a similar level around the £15million mark, the Blues’ overall offer is potentially worth £60m to Wembley over the course of four years.

Chel53a have acknowledged that they will need a temporary home for at least three years while a £500m reconstruction of Stamford Bridge takes place. But it seems the club also need the protection of being able to play at Wembley for a fourth season if there are any unforeseen problems or delays in the build.

Speaking to the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust, Levy claimed that Chel53a’s four-year offer had changed the stance of the FA over Wembley with the governing body previously saying they were not interested in a Premier League club playing at the national stadium.

Levy also stressed the FA are aware of the need to treat clubs equally and are currently looking into the practicalities of a groundshare before further discussions can take place.

Tottenham need a ground to play in for the 2017/18 season while their new £400m stadium is built and are further along in the process than Chel53a, having already started work on the basement foundations and put the contract for the main construction out for tender.

Chel53a are confident they will be in a position to formally apply for planning permission for the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge before the end of the year and are equally sure they will be ready to start work in 2017.

While Tottenham are open to the idea of a groundshare for one year, Chel53a are not interested in the idea because they must sell Wembley as a more long-term proposition to their fans.

Furthermore, the idea of carving up a Premier League and European fixture list with rivals Spurs for a season is not attractive to Chel53a.

Levy told the Tottenham Supporters’ Trust that Wembley is the only neutral venue on the club’s radar, which may force them to Stadium mk in Milton Keynes if they miss out on the national stadium to Chel53a.

West Ham have the right of veto to keep Spurs out of the Olympic Stadium and the club’s vice-chair Karen Brady has already suggested the Hammers would take that course of action to stop Tottenham sharing for a season.

Milton Keynes would be a hugely unpopular move with Tottenham’s fans, who reiterated their pro-London position to Levy during the Supporters’ Trust meeting.

But Levy and Spurs may be faced with no choice if the FA do not intervene to inform Chel53a that the only way they can play at Wembley is to share it for one season.

also, its not as if Chelski have an alternative as good as Wembley, so the FA dont need to be put under pressure by a 4 year exclusive deal or nothing threat from Chelski. The FA can easily say 1 season for Spurs first and 3 seasons for Chelski after. What are chelski going to do, walk away from the table? Where to?

I think Chelsea are delusional if they think they will get the planning permissions arranged so quickly. There is the small mater of a graveyard to be de-consecrated/moved etc (which goes back centuries so may even have remnants of plague victims in there) and several railway lines. They intend to dig down to increase the capacity...
I also think the FA has to be seen to act fairly to all parties... they cannot be seen to be favouring Chelsea, nor do I see how they can come to a financial arrangement for future seasons when they don't even know exactly when they'll need to facility from?

I have given up any hope that regular rules apply to Chel53a, if Abramovic wants it bad enough he'll get it done.
In terms of planning permission or getting the FA to lick his rim? Not sure even he can necessarily grease enough palms in Hammersmith and Fulham / Royal Boro Kensington & Chelsea Planning Depts to get planning approval quickly even if inevitably they get it in the end.

What if MK have offered us 60:40 on 30,000, whereas Wembley are saying 30:70 on 50,000 (remember we won't be allowed to use the top tier)?

MK is easier to get to than Wembley for a very significant section of our fanbase (those who live in the northern home counties). It's only insular Londoners who think there are dragons beyond the M25.

I dont think Levy is negotiating a total gate receipts split.........

Wembley will always win out financially and logistically imo

WALOB.
What have you based this upon? Looked at Google Maps with a ruler?

You do spout off rubbish as fact on occasions GB.... MK will be more difficult to get to for a very large proportion of our fanbase (especially those who currently attend at WHL). Also I'm not sure whether or not you have actually been to Stadium MK?... If you have then perhaps you could let me know of a reasonable way of getting to the stadium that doesn't involve driving? (and even if driving parking is a nightmare)
