Happy with this signing ! I think this is the first good signing by Pochettino for us. Normally will prefer us to sign players from big clubs. Even though we are signing him from Southampton but atleast Alderweireld has played for Ajax and Atletico Madrid. I think this is the sort of signing that will improve us as he is an established international. Hopefully Alderweireld and Vertonghen will improve our defence next season.

But regardless of how he will play, I think we will have problem spelling or pronouncing his name as Alderweireld ! Already looks like a difficult task !

Clubs bigger than Southampton, but smaller than us. That's a very limited market to be buying from. We're not getting anything but rejects from bigger clubs. If we were actually signing him directly from them he'd be another 10 million.

What do you mean we managed to go with Verts? The only people who use that are those to lazy to learn how to spell Vertonghen. Or pricks on twitter worrying about their 140 characters. The vast majority on here think its as cringey and childish as Arsenal idiots using 'the Ox', 'rambo' or 'bfg'.
