He really was the dogs pods. Numerous games where he played like Pirlo spraying balls around setting up goals. He wasn't always perfect, he had off games. Wasn't the best in the air. But he had a voodoo knack as well. Could put off players, and niggle them just enough. Still we move on!
What about the own goals?
Yeah there were definitely other ‘errors’ too; losing a man at a set piece, own goals as you say. Bloody internet as usual, putting some stat down and talking it up as fact!

Start as you mean to finish I guess. He also conceded a penalty in his last game for us against Leicester on the final day. But your point still stands, he didn’t make many mistakes.

I think a lot of our fall from grace is down to him and Verts ageing. They were both top class players and worked brilliantly together. Losing both around the same time has given us huge issues which as of now have still not been resolved.

Him and Jan were such a great partnership, complemented each other perfectly.
So many good performances from Toby, great memories but I think he was in decline, didn't quite have the quick awareness he used to and was slightly out of position for a few goals. Probably saved a fair bit on wages now as well.

The last bit is key. Even if the fee was as low as £3m, that’s about another £12m saved in last two years of his contract.
