Toby Alderweireld

A Rolls Royce of a defender and part of the best team that we have had here since at least Pleat's 87 team.

He gave us the best years of his career and generally always gave a high level of performance.

Thanks for the memories Toby. I look forward to the great reception you will always get when coming back to Spurs in any capacity.
 
Really liked watching Toby - classy player, read the game well and used the ball well

Sad to see him leave but that life. He was unlikely to stay til his career ended and we've got a very good fee for him

Hopefully this also signals that the Romero deal is imminent too

Really starting to feel like the end of an era now.

Very efficient, few mistakes (think he gave away a pen on debut!!) and technically decent on the ball with a memorable diagonal ping.

For me Jan will be remembered as the superior player though, especially as this is now semi retirement for Toby.

Farewell Toby. You were part of the best defensive pair I had seen for Spurs since Ledley King plus Woodgate. I thank you for your time and wish you well in Qatar. Have fun!!
