Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Absolute bollox.

The heat map for Chadli shows he didn't spend any time on the right, other than some small splodges in the right channel when presumably he and Lennon swapped wings - at no point is Chadli clearly on the right whitewash (go down to Heat Maps tab and select Chadli):

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/matchzone/index.html#s2013-c8-m695167

And match action areas show that Chadli spent a total of 7% of his time on the pitch - which was 75 minutes - on the right, giving a maximum of 5 minutes, which squares with Lennon spending time on the left:

GB will now ignore your post and claim in another thread, in 2 days time...that Chadli and Lennon played on the right that game.

It might possibly be the other way round - that they were both on the left, rather than the right; but I promise that if you go back and watch the match again it is the case.

It was very obvious at the time - the whole pub where I was watching the game was laughing at the ridiculousness of it. It's probably mentioned in the OMT if anyone can be bothered to go and look through it.

Blimey, equivocation and uncertainty from GB. Will wonders never cease?

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Here we are, found a reference to it in the OMT: http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/showth...rwich-City-Sunday-23rd-February-16-00/page16?. Bottom post #320 - Spursalot

Spursalot's post was made in the 65th minute of the match.

The point you made referred to the 15th minute of the match: You said Chadli came on and he and Lennon were both running up and down the same wing for a period because our coaches were so clueless they didn't know they had two players playing in the same position.

Spursalot's post does not prove that preposterous and clearly untrue assertion.

If, 50 minutes later, players were running into each other's space that might indeed point to a tactical problem, but that is not at all the same thing as what you said.

It was after the 2nd substitution then, when Soldado came on for Paulinho and we switched formation to 4-4-2, that it must have happened. I've been trying to blank that game out of my mind because it was about the worst Spurs performance in a decade.

I promise you though - watch the match again - it definitely happened. We made a tactical switch and two players ended up playing in the same position.

Link? Without first-hand evidence (not just spursalot's post, the OMT is riddled with contradictory comments) the burden is on you GB to prove your point.

He's already posted a link to Spursalot pointing out that it was happening (a lot) during the match.

Unless you're trying to suggest that there's some kind of conspiracy where GB and Spursalot agreed beforehand to make these comments during the match I'd say that's plenty good enough.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

I give GB credit for searching through that OMT for proof it was discussed by more than him!! :)

I think people are hung up on the fact GB said it went on "for quite a while" when in reality, it may have been for only a few minutes (but enough to get in each others way) which is still amateurishly poor imo.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

I think any manager would have to say the same in the same situation.

If Sherwood was a disruptive influence in the club, and I have not seen anything that suggests he is, surely questions should be asked of the board for accepting that behaviour and effectively condoning it by promoting him.

I think that point is here don't you, where large questions are asked of the board. Whether your a fan of the previous manager or the current one or what ever, we are not a club run in a coherent manner. The one constant is Levy, he is the one I would lay the blame at.

Don't be daft. GB's comment has been challenged with hard evidence, so he referred us to the match recording as proof. So even he accepts we need to see the original to make our minds up.

I haven't seen any hard evidence at all. I've seen mention of heat maps which compare the portion of his time each player spends in an area, but nothing whatsoever about who played where and when.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Here's how the team finished that Norwich game:

Lloris

Naughton
Rose (Townsend replaced him on 82)
Dawson
Vertonghen

Chadli (on at 15 for Capoue)
Dembélé
Bentaleb
Lennon

Adebayor
Soldado (on at 65 for Paulino)

.......

What two players were put out by Sherwood in the same position as GB alleged?

The only possible spot it could have happened was on 15 minutes when Chadli came on and ran straight over to the right hand side of the pitch, where he stood beside Lennon and Naughton, and started playing there with those two for some time until at some point the Spurs bench noticed that the entire left side of Spurs team consisted solely of Rose and nobody else, at which point they called Chadli back over to the left wing.

I mean, for the love of Christ come on.

Maybe they ended up in the same position and Timmeh failed to notice because he was too busy throwing his hands about and "caring"

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Sherwood bottled it.
He had no faith we could comeback in the tie.
Send out a half arsed team in the second leg.

How can he have this attitude and expect the players to have any desire.
Absolute hypocrite considering what he said about desire and belief.

The fact he spent the game in the stands and was seen ****ing himself laughing with some bird in a Benfica scarf when we scored the second goal made me think this too.

Be interested to hear his post match comments

And why would he send out a half arsed team out of choice? What other options did he have? And as this is realistically the only competition we were still in, just what exactly would this achieve?
