Thomas Frank - Former Head Coach

did we downgrade, or did the same level of players not step up the way the previous cohort had?

I think banking on the regens to have the same development cycle as the Mk I's is a poor development strategy.

You need to sprinkle in some been there done it players to aid them. The issue also is that having Kane and Son probably disguised the drop off from that 2nd place team. While they were scoring we could ride that wave.

We've built a squad that had 1 left back, no progressive passers and no established wide men, while at the same time stock piling 754 similar centre midfielders.

The biggest factor for me, we've systematically downgraded the squad over the last 10 years. And I don't really have any sympathy cause when we had the to prepared to call it out, people took it personally and decided to ignore what was being said because they didn't like the managers.

Even today people are chanting about Frank but nothing about the situation he's been put in.
He’s been put in an awful position. Absolutely. But he’s paid to manage and having us 16th or whatever and flirting with relegation in February is massive underachievement. He’ll have his P45 tomorrow and I’ve seldom seen a more deserving recipient.

100%. I'm steadfast in the belief that Frank isn't a terrible coach. Now, he isn't great, either. He's simply deeply mediocre, by Premier League standards. And faced with an injury crisis that would strain even a top coach, he buckled and proved he couldn't hack it. It's okay - men have limits, he reached his.

But he was set up to fail by inheriting a squad that was broken to begin with - with some cosmically bad luck losing Maddison so early, and then a comically bad couple of transfer windows where not enough was done to strengthen the squad relative to activity elsewhere.

Fans will call to sack him, and they're right because some sort of motivational jobber might get us out of the relegation mire - it's worth trying. But he isn't the root cause here.

Not just the league position, it’s the absolutely clueless tactics and no sign of progression.

For example, look at West Ham just conceded late but can’t fault them as they were bang up for it.

Frank has to go, we’re not even a team atm

If he is going, it has to be now. 12 days to get done ideas across to the players left behind

This. If he is getting it has to be done tomorrow and appointment made before Saturday morning, or earlier. If there is a new manager he needs as much time as possible to work with whats left of the squad

And now what

Get Poch back, he's unsackable and the board have a nice buffer for a few years. Unless Poch has gone full black suit and tie and is going to start calling the lm out when he's in the seat. To be fair he's the one guy that could get away with it right now without the board being able to just him.

Spot on

He needs to go, but this mess has been over two years in the making if not longer

If you continue to downgrade the players year on year and over pay them, then its a recipe for disaster.

Franks the wrong manager for us, but there is a fault line running through our club that isnt caused by the managers here.
