The youth players/on-loan thread 2014-2015

Great to see Josh Onomah make his debut tonight. Didn't try anything fancy. Kept it simple and effective. A sound start - albeit that the game was barely competitive over the final 15 minutes while he was on the pitch.

Probably centre defence. He was certainly very impressive there for Serbia U21's, shutting out a very strong Spain team over two legs in Euro qualifiers.

But he's very capable in both positions. He's not the quickest but he reads the game well and has good positioning. Very composed on the ball.
Thanks

Perhaps, I don't think 4231 really suits him though, not as a midfielder. If he's to play in midfield then this system would suit him best

His best quality is how composed he is, he plays like a veteran rather than a 19yr old, rarely seems to get flustered.

Spurs (v Wolves - FAYC): Voss, Walker-Peters, Muscatt, Amos, Tanganga, Walkes, Georgiou, Onomah, Harrison, Goddard, Azzaoui.

We won 2-0 through Azzaoui and Walker-Peters. Man Utd wait in the next round.

Charlton are a mess of a club at the moment. This wont end well.

Watched the second half of Norwich - Brentford today since our game wasn't shown, just to have a look at Pritchard.

Played pretty much as a #10 in behind a lone striker. Thought he looked the most technical player on the pitch by some distance, Norwich looked awful, the pitch was rather poor and a lot of players for both teams were making easy mistakes. Pritchard rarely made mistakes, looked to make things happen when he got the ball. Played some really nice passes, including a couple of smart headers when the ball was bouncing to him. Got the goal from the penalty spot after he had played the pass in to Gray that got fouled.

Of course he still looks small and rather weak, and a bit average defensively. But he put a shift in and his ability on the ball shone through. Brentford played decent football at times and I can understand why he fits in there. But I think he would potentially look even better in a team with better players.

Right now. If we had him and Paulinho on the bench and we had to make a sub to impact a game looking for a goal I think Pritchard would be the better choice. I think the same is true about Townsend when Townsend is having one of his poor days at least, but very different players and Townsend obviously offers something a bit different.

Would probably be good for him to get a full season under his belt chasing promotion in the Championship playing for a team that trusts him. But I wouldn't be unhappy to see him back at Spurs this January replacing someone heading out the door.

No Fredericks for Boro and no Hall as Blackpool shipped 7 second half goals.

Veljkovic played 84 minutes as Charlton managed a credible 0-0 at Wolves.

Leicester U21s: Maddison, Pearson (c), Chilwell, Sesay, Moore, Upson, Dodoo, McCourt, Stankevicius, Panayiotou, Fox

Finished 0-0

Colchester United are set to sign Tottenham Hotspur's Kenneth McEvoy on loan until the end of the season, according to the League One club's manager.

The 20-year-old midfielder is yet to make his Spurs debut, but has spent time on loan at Peterborough United this season, playing eight games for the Posh and scoring once.

U's boss Tony Humes told BBC Sport: "Spurs have agreed everything, it's about getting the paperwork through."

Just watched Brentford lose to Middlesborough. Pritchard for me was very good. He whipped in some decent corners and set pieces and probably should've had an assist or two. Brentford definately looked worse after he was moved from the centre of the pitch to the left. On the downside, he doesn't look the most defensively aware and there were times where he pressed and stopped after his man had released the ball, failing to track the run thereafter.
