I get it mate. It's causing me all sorts of stress and bad thoughts today after 3 weeks of relative calm.
I'm seeing an awful lot of "we're down, it's done" from fans online and in the real world. Objectively, it's a stupid opinion. We're two points from safety with 18 to play for. Far, far worse situations have been turned around with worse squads. Admittedly, the form is the strongest argument against mine but I just can't see how something doesn't break our way soon. It just has to - this is completely unprecedented.
For the people saying we're down, I think it's a rush to be proven right ("I knew it weeks ago") and a coping mechanism. However, if we want the players to have a strong mentality, we shouldn't be feeling sorry for ourselves or throwing in the towel yet. The negativity online and the negativity in the stadium feeds into the narrative that we're down.
We're still fighting for survival. We still have a good shot at it - I'm going to hope until it's mathematically impossible. Otherwise, there's no point even watching/attending the games.
