The potential players to bring in with only 1 year left on their deal thread

I would love to see us get Eze but not really bothered by Toney to be honest.

I think he could help to disrupt defences. And if behind having both him and Richarlison on the pitch would be a handful. Lankshear is no shrinking violet though and maybe he can put himself about too.

He's just a bit cumbersome and immobile for it. It doesn't really matter - he's not that sort of player. He's more a Llorente type who causes havoc in the box. But we'd need to be careful who we pair him with to create balance - i.e. not Son or Kulu. Maybe with Werner and Johnson either side it would work?
He would need the pacey guys but we have them
Son is worrying me pre season I have to say ..l looks way off the pace
He is not like Llorente though. More like Kane if anyone. Happy dropping deep and passing or playing as last man

I'm a big admirer of Lankshear, he needs to get experience playing against men and organised teams, the pace and physicality is a big step up, I think he'll do it but I don't think he could be a regular starter with us yet.

Not for me really, most of his goals have been scored in the lower lgs and he is a big fish in a small pond with Brentford. Not sure he would be a big player here not for the money he would cost.

Did you see him when he came on for England? I thought he was the difference and allowed England to open up a stubborn defense. A small sample size, but Toney can definitely lay on chances and was a team player on the pirch (despite there being question marks over his attitude or speaking out against his current club).

A bit like Crouch, bringing him on unnerves a defense as he is a handful. He will put it about. He can finish.

Wouldn't mind him at all. Just as a way to change up a game and throw in a new dimension when behind.

What do you think he'll cost? He's only got one year left, and there doesn't seem to be clubs lining up to sign him, as I'm sure Brentford were expecting.
I think he'll be available for Maddison type money. Maybe even less.

Not saying he is a bad player but for what he would cost i would rather look for younger.
Younger we have
That’s my issue
We need a guy who is guaranteed to play at this level
His return to goals and his contribution to his team is very good
He had a mare last season because of the ban coupled with them picking him then dropping him.
He is horrible to play against which is what we lack unless Richy is fit and 100%

I think a fair week in week out pro for someone like Brentford, much like the lad at Bournemouth is for them, but not for me or us IMO

My thoughts as well, I am not saying he is a poor player but i would be dissapointed. I guess we will wait and see.

We've got those in Veliz and Lankshear though. We more need a stop gap for a year or two, esp if Richarlison is going to end up mainly being used from the left
Neither are anywhere near Toney’s level yet (and may never get there). Also Lankshear looks a good goalscorer but still has a lot of work to do on his build up game:

I would be happy with Richy/Son as the CFs and Lankshear off the bench for 15-20 mins.

I think Lankshear has the intelligence of movement (he sees near-post runs for nexample, love that) and he is a lot more than just physicality and 'thump'. He knows how to be where you need to score goals, and he's a presence. From what I'm seeing he has the personality to step up. IF we sell Richy I'd expect us to buy a replacement, but otherwise I see no need for a forward like that. @Finney Is Back he's a kid so yes, he has plenty to learn, but he shows the appetite to want to, the hunger to do so, and already has enough about him in terms of reading moments to be an impact off the bench. His height and physicality does also give you an option in terms of style should you want to go basic. I personally have seen enough in his intelligent movement (last season not just in two friendlies BTW) to convince me he is a real talent. I think he could surprise us. The logic of a good (emphasis on good) loan is sound, but I'd be inclined to take the punt here and see how he does.
