The Official 2023/24 Premier League Thread

Hard to understand. Always liked the lad as a player and he was unplayable for a bit last season and at other stages in his career. He now looks to have had a Dele Alli-like proverbial fall off the cliff.

His attitude appears to be absolute poison.

Admirable as his work for underprivileged children is I think he lost his focus on football, charity work can be a drain on your time and emotions.

This is why it's laughable that so many have written Emirates Marketing Project off this year. They'll win it by 5 points in the end.

Has anything changed that you think City will stop dropping points regularly like they have been doing? I suppose De Bruyne was back on the bench this weekend. That should help.

Was always streaky though
Dele was consistent but clearly his career nose dived

I think they just really switch on when it starts to count. And like you say, De Bruyne coming back will be huge.

Having said that…they’ve now won literally everything, will Pep be able to keep them motivated?

Palmer's goal yesterday was really incredible, should be goal of the month. The composure and anticipation in a tight space was just brilliant.

His one against United was equally good as well imo. It's interesting that in a short space of time the city academy have managed to produce both him and Foden, both players give off the impression that they're still on the playground / street, it's that combination of talent as well as the mentality to not let the pressure affect what they can do.

City don't seem bothered by selling potentially very good players to teams that could in theory be rivals. It's a shame in this case as it's just about the only signing that has worked out for Chelsea in the past few windows.

They really did scoop up a lot of young talent a few years back. Southampton seem to have bought most of the promising ones off them recently.
