Just taken this schreenshot of when Ayew committed the foul - this is extremely harsh looking. Not many referees would have brandished a yellow for that.

I don't think it was a yellow but that shows absolutely nothing

I think the point it's showing is that it didn't stop a dangerous break. The foul itself was nothing so it had to be given for a tactical foul stopping a break, but there was no real break on.

Obviously I know this happens and always has done but it’s wrong really. Either a foul is a yellow or it isn’t. I don’t think there should be an arbitrary ‘commit such and such number of minor fouls and eventually you’ll get booked”. It either warrants a booking or it doesn’t.
