I think it definitely should be a consideration for the PL if we are to keep football as a whole entity and not just some elite plaything for 20 clubs - might as well just take the MLS model if that's the case

It's been an elite plaything for decades.

I think that model is inevitable, personally I think it's also a good thing. It doesn't stop there being a thriving amateur system in the country, I think it could actually enhance it.
 
The Premier League's phoney crowd noise is miles off the standard of the Bundesliga's version, reacts about 5 seconds too slowly.
