The Official 2019/20 Premier League Thread

City way too sharp for the scum. Luiz can't be relied on by Arteta and he only came on because the starting CB got injured. Who does that leave for CB for the next three games? If it wasn't for Leno having a great game, City would have had 5.

Glad to have football back.

That hawk eye incident saved us 2 points on Sheffield Utd;

Hawk-Eye apologises unreservedly to the Premier League, Sheffield United and everyone affected by this incident.

A victory would have taken United up to fifth in the table and right into the battle to reach the Champions League. Their manager, Chris Wilder, said: “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. The feeling of everybody at the time – both sets of players and staff – was the ball had crossed the line. And speaking to the referee, he said to me it had the feel of a goal. But obviously he’s got to rely on Hawk-Eye to make the decision.

Or less cynically, its to protect players
Or more cynically to pave the way for this rule to become permanent help out the bigger teams with all the players they have stockpiled.
I also wonder if the integrity of the 3pm game not being live will disappear and we will see matches staggered over four days.

The ref is in charge...he can over-rule Hawkeye if he is convinced it’s made an error. And VAR for that matter.

If that had been a concern, they wouldn’t have been so eager to finish the season at all costs at a very inconvenient time for the players.

Really, you don't even have to be cynical to see that this is all about money (and Liverpool winning the PL).

Dont hold your breath. They will be redundant soon and it's all their own fault, instead of being part of the game they have chosen to be "in charge of the game" and failed to improve and adapt to change. Players and refs had a lot better relationship in the past and I believe a lot of this is down to TV and their culture of blame and need for incidents to debate.

I wish they didn't all have Black Lives Matter on the back of their shirts, really hard to tell the black players apart now........

:oops:

the sooner that 3pm rule goes the better, it’s holding back the PL and official streaming options
