The Official 2014/15 Premier League Thread

So what if the ref has seen it, 99% of refs are clueless anyhow, if the player has done something wrong he should be punished, stupid fudgeing rules

Just a way for the PL to decide who to punish and when. It's an out from having to punish someone under the disguise of respecting or protecting the referees and their decisions.

I actually think it works the other way though. It's magnifies refereeing mistakes as not only was he not sent off in the game, he also gets away without a suspension. That just leads to people respecting referees more and piles more pressure on refs because if they see something, but are unclear on what actually happened that not doing anything is worse than if they didn't see it and do nothing.

It's quite simple Jose had the hump with the FA rightly banning the scumbag Costa, he has made his feelings perfectly clear to the FA who now are like we can't ban another CFC player

I totally agree with that you are saying (assuming you meant less not more). The ludicrous way these type of incidents are dealt with retrospectively only contribute to the lack of respect for officialdom. Either the ref saw the incident or didn't, so he is either incompetent or it should be retrospectively punished.

Romelu Lukaku has said he hopes to leave Everton for "a top club" less than a year after his permanent summer switch

Brilliant this cretin has been absolute dogbrick and now Everton are not good enough for him, typical modern day footballer

Chelsea were lucky Everton signed him.. he was so pants in the World Cup no one else would have paid that price for him. Belgium replaced him with that Origi who is even worse than he his.

You're of course right about less, not more. :)

Indeed. It would help if refs could come out and say they made a mistake. It's so stupid that they are stuck with their decision when tens of thousands in the ground have seen the incident and millions more at home. If the referee could say he has seen the video and would have made a different decision with a different view, he could come across as more human and be more respected. Instead we have the FA defending their infallibility as if they were the Pope.

Irritating that Pardew didn't choose Bolasie or Jedinak today. Can't believe we dropped points to these lot. In fact 5 points! Ouch
