The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

Looking at the video, and in fairness to Bale, he tried to shake Ronaldo's hand properly, and it was Ronaldo who turned it into that abomination of a duderino handshake thing.

Ronaldo   i dont think he likes Bale too much

I think LB would be a NIGHTMARE starting spot for Bale himself. He is not fully match fit and probably hasn't played LB in well over a year (or more?). So, that opens up the possibility that he makes 2 mental slips or gets caught in possession up the pitch allowing attackers to get in behind him, and his debut is remembered for shipping 2 goals with schoolboy defending. €100m for this guy?? Ouch. White hankie time.

In general though, it's been said for some time that if Bale were a continental player LB would be his natural starting position, so I can see it happening. There's also a case, as metalgear says, that having the whole pitch in front of him to run into makes him more scary than just half of it.

I hope he does well either way.

Never thought about that!!

I think the fans will cut him a bit of slack but he is now boringly on the right according to CA.

Looks as though he intended to hurt Bale and more than once.

its just the start.....the politics in the Madrid dressing room is something Bale has to overcome. Good luck with that Gareth

Man Utd v Crystal Palace 12:45 at Old Trafford

Aston Villa v Saudi Sportswashing Machine 15:00 at Villa Park

Fulham v West Brom 15:00 at Craven Cottage

Hull v Cardiff 15:00 at The KC Stadium

Stoke v Emirates Marketing Project 15:00 at Britannia Stadium

Sunderland v Arsenal 15:00 at Stadium of Light

Tottenham v Norwich 15:00 at White Hart Lane

Everton v Chelsea 17:30 at Goodison Park

Villa have only won against Arsenal and lost the other 2. I think Stoke and Everton will get a point.

Bale must have upset many young Spurs fans by moving to Real. My 9-year old nephew was a big Bale fan until a few weeks ago. A few days ago, when they showed Bale shaking hands with Ronaldo, my nephew got so mad that he was reaching for his shoes/sandals/slipper to throw at the TV set. He warned he would destroy the TV set if they show Bale wearing a Real shirt again.

Villarreal v Real Madrid 21:00 at El Madrigal

I will be watching this and a few more RM games this season. I might even have an opinion on some of our transfer targets come January!

There was a nipper at one Spurs game with a Bale shirt on and sporting a Bale haircut. Wasn't your nephew, was it?

I will be interested to see how United perform today. I was very impressed with them against Swansea but not so impressed with the attitude in the next 2 games.
Anybody got team news?
