The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

Forget Liverpool. I'm looking at some decent players at Southampton, Clyne and Shaw for a start. Good fullbacks. Llana, Davies, Rodriguez all decent players. Lambert, Gaston Ramirez. Osvaldo seems a bit overrated. But they pass the ball well.

Gaston Ramirez has been a flop by all accounts. Lallana and Davies? Nah. Rodriguez the same. Lambert? He's been invisible today. They do have very good full backs to be fair. But they certainly aren't anything resembling a top team. Top half maybe.

Shaw, Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Wanyama are all very talented footballers. They play good stuff, press very well. I like the manager, think he has done wonders for them.

Wanyama has had a shaky start to his Saints career and is an unknown/unproven quantity at best.

youre watching one game  Ramirez is still a talented footballer. Lambert has been invisible today? Who cares, he's still a decent player which is what he was saying

Oh by no means do I mean a top side. I just think for a team that was just promoted a season ago, they have done very well, and have some more than decent talent. Also Pochettino has them playing some good football.

Yep all are good players (Shaw and Schneiderlin very good). I think a 9th/10th placed finish is attainable with their squad.

How ****e are Sunderland btw? Jesus their squad stinks.

Actually I've been to two games of theirs live this season with my mate who is a season ticket holder of 15 years. But y'know, just let me know what I have and haven't seen.

Agreed. Top 10 is what they SHOULD be aiming this season, anything higher than 8th would be a massive bonus to them. Considering how unpredictable the prem is looking so far this season, they may just do that too. Yet to score from open play mind you.

Soton impressing me. Playing well. Think they will cause problems for many teams.

Liverpool, not quite so impressive.

Yeah I agree. However, at some point soon the big boys will start cherry picking the Clyne's and Shaw's. That'll be a real test for them. They wont be allowed to just go on quietly building uninterrupted. No-one can, we certainly haven't.

But yes, they are a competitive team that has done well since coming up and who are going the right way about building a side.
