The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

"Top players make a huge difference"

Gordon Scratcharse said that and that is probably the wisest thing he ever said.

Right now if Rooney goes and Moyes stays United win sweet f*** all.

I can't see Rooney going anywhere until next summer and even then, I'm not sure how many clubs will be interested with the kind of wages that he will demand. There is a world cup coming up. He is going to need to end his sulk, respect his manager's decisions and play well.

I don't really give a fig about all that. It is hilarious to me that the manager and his main player (or RVP) don't like each other.

The last manager didn't get on with him either. If the Guardian podcast is right, Ferguson phoned Laurent Blanc in the summer, when PSG were sniffing around Rooney, and told him that he didn't want another disruptive player in an already combustible dressing room.

Wasn't really watching the ECL round up but did GB provide the free kick then an assistish (copyright) then a won tackle that led to a goal?

Anyone else think Neuer is a bit overrated and looks good because he plays behind a great defence? I don't even think he's the best keeper in Germany.

Have heard similar claims from Germany (through the press/commentators), apparently the Dortmund goalkeeper was better last season.

Neuer is still young for a goalkeeper though at 27. In my opinion almost all goalkeeper go through periods where they don't look as impressive and this is perhaps especially true for goalkeepers who excelled at a very early age and so build up a reputation that is sky high. A couple of mistakes and they look more human and perhaps overrated.

What is important is how well they bounce back from something like that. I think Neuer will re-assert himself as a top class goalkeeper if he isn't classified as one at the moment. Whenever I've seen him he's looked very good.

Yes he plays at the back of a sensational Bayern side that are also very solid, but that hasn't always been the case.

Bale's knees :)

i hope Bale does well at Madrid. Better that than him flopping and being sold back to an english side like Utd, City or Chels within a couple of years

Not sure about the tackle but he definitely swung in a free kick from which there was a header saved & Ronaldo tapped in
