The new, new manager thread - Pt 3

I noticed Ancelotti waving and winking to Levy in the crowd...looks like Carlo is leaving Real on a high

You're right it is Madrid so who knows! But I think its all redundant as I just cant see him coming here anyway. He wins the CL with Real Madrid, next stop Spurs? Seriously....

No, I agree with you. We'd be a complete step-down. But a very good challenge for him. Plus, who would Real Madrid get in!?

Del Bosque never had his contract renewed in 2003 despite winning the league.....the next he was told to pack his bags so it does happen although that is a slightly different example. Bobby Robson was politely removed in 1997 from Barca despite winning the Cup winners Cup because they hadn't won the league.

A challenge indeed. Since coming to prominence with Juve he's managed Milan, Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid. Does anyone really forsee him coming here? Just because Levy hasn't instantly appointed a manager doesn't mean he's waiting for CA at all. As for Madrid, is Zidane being groomed for that job?
 
What a Manager though. People will argue that the teams he has managed have allowed him an easier run at being a champion but to win the league in 3 different countries is a big deal. 3 European Cups as well plus a Coppa Italia, FA Cup and Copa del Rey. Legend of a Manager.

Disappointed that he will now not be looking for alternative employment but also delighted for him as a manager and a person.

Decent examples nonetheless. I've acknowledged that as its Madrid it could still happen, crazy if so....

I think it just all comes from when he had been a free agent and we were apparently waiting to get him in once Harry was sacked.

Considering they had Mourinho before him, he was also the first manager in the history of the club to win a League and FA Cup double with Chelsea.

I'm not so sure anything was ever mentioned in terms of the club because we were still very much hoping to keep Harry at the point Ancelotti was offered the PSG job. It was more Ancelotti's direct quotes that said he wanted to stay in England and primarily, London. He mentioned Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs as clubs that would be destinations he would be delighted with should the chance arise.

I think it is incredibly unlikely. They are happy with him, Champions League titles are more important to them than La Liga but they will want to win that back if they can and of course they will no doubt want to be the first team since the revamp in 1992 and since AC Milan in 1990, of which Ancelotti was part of as a player, to win the competition in successive seasons.

Suspending not sacking. If even true. And not everyone, just the people who seem to have breached trust inherent to their employment.
Why even say he's bald? of course he is, it's a fact. It doesn't mean anything or add to your statement.
