I'll say it again; Liverpool are not underachieving. Their players are of 6th - 8th in the PL quality. Some are perhaps a little bit higher (Suarez, Lucas, Bellamy, Reina) and many are a fair bit below that standard (Adam, Spearing, Carroll, Johnson, Henderson, Downing). If Dalglish gets them to finish 6th it'll be a very good season by the standard of their players. Absolutely appalling in terms of money spent, mind, but surely no rational person was expecting Stewart Downing to power a side into title challengers?

spot on...Adam is a fat dirty lump

I'm actually really pleased to see Keane score. He may be past it in terms of pace/energy, but this season it looks like the oldies still have something to show the upstarts...

If it weren't for Arse and Chelsea being crap, and Saudi Sportswashing Machine's best players off to Africa, Liverpool would be nowhere near fourth. Personally I hope they beat one of the Manc teams and win a Carling cup just to keep Dalglish in his seat. Given their sugardaddy funds - you CANNOT tell me John Henry doesn't have something to do with their outrageous sponsorship deals - it's best to saddle them with "King Kenny" for as long as possible and hope they keep buying overpriced English players.

it's probably irrationality on my part...but i do fear Dalglish over time..

most of the teams closest to us stumbled..and arse play manure...a win against bricky would be a huge, huge boost.

Chelsea are really stupid. They should have kept Mourinho or Ancelotti after they won them the title. Instead they have gone for a young manager who doesn't seem to know how to handle the big name players.

Someone over on ArseMania has pasted this comment in their "Laugh at Tottenham" thread and plans to laugh at it come end of the season.

I cant understand them doing that. 10pts look great on paper, with this run of fixtures we have coming up it could, possibly be reduced quite dramatically by March 31st.
The key game is obv the NLD, until that game is out of the way I wont rest. Just need to avoid defeat that day

I suspect its because the majority of them don't have as much respect for him, because he's all theory and no experience. If you have ever worked for a manager, who is dictating your work patterns and judging you on your performance, never having done anything similar - then you have a natural (I believe) lesser opinion of them as a manager.

I work in the telecomms industry and had a MD who was a business succes in IT and was bought in by the board for his business management track record. Frustrating as fudge having to deal with someone with such a tinklepoor understanding of the ins and outs of the realities of putting telecomms solutions together - apart from on a theoretical high level.

Its also difficult to work for really young managers, as you know they haven't been around the industry long enough to have the fundamental experience you look for in a manager

Making a science of a sport doesn't work either, particularly when dealing with footballers, most of whom can't string a sentence together, let alone grasp complex theories.

Letting Ancelotti go was a mystifying decision.

Equally, if we hold our form and avoid a lot of injuries, we could come through the fixtures against the top 6 in an incredibly strong position.

You see these games as a big chasm to fall in to - I see them as a mountain to get a beautiful clear view from

Well this run of games with the sky four teams will decide our fate this season. Do well in these games and we're fighting for the title all the way to the end of the season. It makes me nervous and excited just thinking about it.

Defeat for Liverpool yesterday meant they are as close to Bolton(pointswise) in 17th as they are to Emirates Marketing Project

Kamara on Goals of Sunday referring to Keano's pointy shouty behaviour in the build up to his second goal. Excellent analysis tbf.
