They can give it to Di Matteo short term and he'd do better than AVB. Any manager they bring in will see them have a sudden change of fortune for the good. Di Matteo seems like he's mates with quite a few of them so they'd at least play for him. We need AVB to stick around for as long as possible.

They'd have clauses to stop him working in the EPL. He really hasn't done too well either.
You don't do what he managed last year at Porto and suddenly become a bad manager. The problem for me has been the same since Mourinho's time at Chelsea, player power and Abramovich's pampering to the senior players which undermines the managers position eventually. Long may it continue.

I kinda agree. I do think their squad is actually not that good. Overaged players, players who do not fit into his system and, like you say, player power.
