The Goon Thread

We know the Arsenal board would likely never push Wenger out, BUT if one of us or Leicester were to win the title this season do people think the likely fan uproar would be so loud that he's resign?

The very thought of us winning the league and simultaneously forcing Wenger out is really far too much to take.

If it actually comes to fruition I may just spontaneously combust.

These fookers depress me so much. When you look back over the last 15 years or so, they have been responsible for so much of our traumas as Spurs fans. Taking our captain, for free, winning the league at the lane in 04 , beating us to a champs league place in 06, overtaking us into third place in 2012, beating us to the champs league on the last day again in 2013. I have this niggling feeling they will beat us to the league this year which is why I am refusing to get excited. How mu ch it would mean to me this season not only for my team to win the title but also to turn the tables on the goons.COYFS.

Strange how you say you're not getting exicted but at the same time at the end say it would mean a lot to win the title and turn the tables on them. Not having a go, and mean this in the politest way possible, but just pointing out the contradiction.

Anyhow it's no coincidence that Arsenal have upset us a lot over the past few years. Despite the fact that once upon a time Wenger decided he was gonna win the league with kids (a bit like what we're doing atm) they've consistently spent at least double the amount we have on wages. They criticised us for 'wasting 100m' after selling Bale despite the fact we actually made a £5m profit that window and taking into consideration wage expenditure + player transfer fee's they spent WAAAAAAAY more than us.

Also, I know this has been said a lot to many times over the past decade but the gap is steadily decreasing. We've had a few hiccups in the form of Juande Ramos and AVB but at the moment we have a degree of consistency which they must envy. No team has beaten us by three goals whilst I'm sure it's happened to them at least once by a mediocre side.

Not once we get our new ground but a few years after that I'm sure it will be very competitive between us and them. This season I also don't expect us to finish above them but I guess we should just take each game as it comes. Anything else is a Brucie Bonus (which I've now said so many times it's my avatar)

I would have been fine with them comfortably outperforming us every year. I mean obviously not, but it would have been bearable.

Campbell, winning the league at WHL, us finishing 1 point behind them two years on the bounce (both times to eventually deny us CL football), the fact that we have finished above every single other team in the country bar them in the last 20 years - it has felt like the footballing Gods are all fvcking gooner scum.

Which is why it will be so so SO fvcking glorious when our time comes.

Our time will come. Fortunately I'm young(ish) so I feel (Hope!) I can safely say we will within my lifetime.

I feel it is possible for us to regularly finish above them within 3-4 yrs of our stadium being built. In the mean time f**k Campbell. F**k Arsenals lasagne. F**k "Well Clive any manager would want the England job" season. We're playing the sort of footie they've not had since the days of Henry & Viera and doing it with the young team Wenger, quite literally, cummed over.

But please don't let us this be a 'mind the gap' season. We're barley above them as it is. Maybe they win the league, mayabe Leicester do, maybe we do. I dread to think of what this forum will be like if we miss out on the title by a point to them though!

I think you could say that Hull getting a draw today was indeed a 'Brucie Bonus'......and goes to get coat

Best Goon result possible for us today i suppose, another game at Hull.

It was, but I still expect them to progress and worringly they are still on course for a 3rd FA Cup on the trot. (Winners of replay will get Reading at home - remember this is the Emirates FA Cup), plus they are annoyingly still in with a shout of the double
