Would we have qualified for the CL both this season and last season if these rules had already been in place?
If that is the case, you really couldn't make it up. The football gods mocking us yet again. You can be sure neither of those two things will happen to us after the new rules are in place.Looks a bit ambiguous from the BBC website. But it suggests yes, we would.
Anyone know how safe our current 4-team coefficient is, given how badly English clubs have done collectively over the last four years? And does Europa performance affect the CL coefficient ?

Wouldn't you just know it. They open the door only AFTER we have been cheated out of qualification, like they needed to wait for us to be the victim of a brick system before sorting it out.
No point in getting our hopes up though. The top three places are locked in imo and with Arse loaded reviving and Liverpool getting their act together, what's the betting we still wind up losing out by some statistical freak or other on the last day of the season.
We are Spurs, that's what happens to us. :frown:
Needed to get that off me chest.
So what happens if you come in the top four and win the cup?
UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino announced the rule change which aims to make the second-tier European tournament more attractive to clubs.
Infantino did not confirm the full details, but it is understood that Europa League winners and Champions League winners will no longer take a place from the domestic leagues if they finish outside of the Champions League qualifying spots.
No point in winning it next season then.
