Looks like there is some life in our batsmen. Not having Burns tho. Hope he proves me wrong but don’t think he’ll score to many this series .

He's not particularly convincing, lots of movement in this stance, but they have all come in completely cold to this, it can't be easy to be right on it straightway. Hopefully him and HH can find their rhythm.

Glad to see Root and Malan posted decent scores, plenty of work to do though.
 
So Hazlewood out for them. Broad and Anderson in for England. Pink ball, Warner's ribs are a beautiful target, day/night test could mean swing conditions. Weather looks perfect, although Friday could be stinking hot. Schit or bust for England. Need to get the series level before heading to Melbourne for the third test.

Totally agree so England will be out for 100 and the Aussies make 743/4 in reply haha
 
Had to laugh at this cheeky report from The Guardian's OBO scene-setter:

Patrick Cummins was out to dinner last night, Australian time. I’m reliably informed it was at the Little Hunter Steakhouse. They have a home-made royal blue potato gnocchi that looks worth a lockdown. Someone at the next table then got a health department message that they had tested positive for Covid, and told the diners around them. Which meant that Cummins was now a close contact.
 
Unless there's a truly exceptional player up against a truly exceptional team (Tendulkar, for example) this is the only cricket I regularly tune into. All the vitriol and venom make it the equivalent of Canada vs. Russia in ice hockey.
 
Some good bowling in that session but not quite threatening enough need a couple of quick wickets after lunch to make inroads
 
They look like they are going to score a load of Runs . Not threatening at all with the ball now . Need to hope the lights help the bowlers
 
Just came here to post how soul destroying watching the Ashes in Oz is and we get a wicket! Pantomime villain Warner on 95 too!!

Doesn’t feel like we’ve bowled badly today, wicket just not doing much and Aussies batting well. Think the issue is what we all knew beforehand, the English attack is a bit one dimensional outside of England and without Archer. Would help if we found a spinner worth the name, shame Harmer wasn’t allowed to switch to Eng, he’d transform this attack!
