Gutted and broken to say the least but very proud of my team. This is without IPL. Without home games.
I’m pleased they have been told to get their act together and hope it gets rooted out. But the lad is getting a little too vindictive wanting so many sackedWhats happening now? TBH I always felt they were playing it down despite being proven to have an issue, so anything they get they deserve to som extent
Is he suggesting Root was involved or knows Root was aware of it? Think he should clarify why Roots comments are hurtful to him. Root says it’s clear from the reports that there was a problem with racism at Yorkshire, so what’s hurtful? (You have to bare in mind that Root has basically been away on international duty for 10 years!)I’m pleased they have been told to get their act together and hope it gets rooted out. He should be helped but don’t destroy everything
Anyone involved in it absolutely should pay, but is Rafiq implicating Root or not with his comments?
Speaking as someone who has been disabled since birth and I have experienced prejudice all my life I would not close the businesses that I went for interviews at because they did not give me a job due to my disability, thats spiteful.I have to say that if cricket experiences disruption then so be it, the guy had effectively a large part of his career ruined so if others suffer the same for turning a blind eye or being part of the problem then I am ok with it.
For me we either do something serious about it or we dont, I said the same time and again in the football thread, do we really want change or just enough change so it does not rob you of heroes or your enjoyment. For me sling the book at anyone regardless of standing in the game or importance to the sports
I believe he believes Root was aware and is disappointed that he is saying he was unaware, by the sounds of it, everyone was aware by the sounds of the report
Sadly Azeem is being used to fill news broadcasts now.Adil and Root and Bairstow would have been aware, trust me on that. But they have chosen to be silent. Azeem can be annoyed as he wants and call them out.
Sadly Azeem is being used to fill news broadcasts now.
The racism is there for all to see and heads have rolled. Now I feel we need to look at helping those currently coming through in the game and learn. Shooting the tea ladies at Yorkshire CC is not necessary imho.
I hope Azeem get some form of peace and closure to is obvious unhappiness.
He has complained! Rightly so, what I hate to see is someone using this to settle scores. The leadership at Yorkshire have done this. Not Azeem. How are you even seeing it has him doing it to the club. They made this what it is.
He has complained! Rightly so, what I hate to see is someone using this to settle scores.
Azeem is tweeting away ratcheting up the vitriol. Azeem has done well and should now help up and coming players from all backgrounds to get on in the game. Becoming a force for progress.

Prejudice comes in many shapes and sizes there’s no need to destroy Yorkshire cricket club and the people that work there
So fired for something said 4 years ago
I can't remember what I said yesterday yet alone 4 years ago unless his remark was minuted
Essex chairman John Faragher has resigned following an allegation he used racist language in a 2017 board meeting.
Faragher strongly denies the allegation but Essex say they will review why the matter was not fully and independently investigated at the time.
He stood down from his post following a board meeting on Thursday.
"There is no place for discrimination of any kind at the club," chief executive John Stephenson said.
Former Essex opener Stephenson, who only took over the day-to-day running of the county in October, said he first found out about the alleged incident this week.
"I was made aware of this single allegation on Thursday," he added.
"The board met last night [Thursday] during which John Faragher's resignation was unanimously accepted.
"This is a proud club with a zero-tolerance policy towards racism and any form of discrimination. I will not hesitate to uphold those principles and drive out any form of discrimination that is uncovered."
Faragher, who was appointed Essex chairman in 2016, oversaw County Championship title wins in 2017 and 2019, a T20 Blast triumph also in 2019 and the county lifting the Bob Willis Trophy in 2020.
Why wasn't it dealt with as source though, instead wait 4 years until something else happens then act on it to make it look like you're doing the right thingI guess it doesn't matter whether a person remembers saying something or not, if it was said and heard by others. (Speaking in general terms as I don't know the particulars of this, apart from it being reported that he had supposedly used an "outdated phrase...rather than it being directed at any specific individual or ethnic minority.")
2017 isn't that long ago for someone not to be aware of what language is inappropriate and racist. I guess more will come out in due course.
