Essex require 340 with 8 wickets tomorrow at the oval. Big clash in terms of the championship. That’s a big ask and it will be a great effort if they can do it.

They meet again at the end of September and I think they will still be in touch at that point.

No chance we get that score not with 2 down already, 200 all out

Good result for us.

Last match of the year is late September at Essex with the kookaburra ball - hopefully something to play for in that game.

Tomorrow is an end of an era !!
Work said to me, you coming in the office tomorrow
No chance, it's Jimmy's last test haha

The way he bowled yesterday was supreme
It's a shame he isn't finishing at Old Trafford instead of in front of the plebs at Lords

I find it odd that they are retiring a player rather than letting him choose, he still clearly has supreme skills. The new lad bowled really well but I wonder where the next exponent of swing is coming from. Wood and Archer bowling 11 over spells means we need to find one

I can't remember it being announced like that before, but Stokes has said they are building for the Ashes and Anderson does not have a great record out there, certainly not a leading bowlers return.

Oh I get that for sure, I think he is still one of the best in exposing UK conditions though. I will contradict that and say we need succession plans haha, but as swing bowling goes there is no one I can see and Key has ruled out anyone bowling under 85mph now

When Stokes got out I said to my son he could cost us the match, he just needed to get to lunch and put on a quick 100 in second session. Who could see that coming
