The Cricket Thread

It's all over. England lack the mental toughness to win this. Besides it would need to be close to a world record fourth innings total. We had our chances to gut them at seven down in the first innings, but failed to putt hem away.
 
This england team is so frustrating, we can feel unlucky losing 2 bowlers but the top order batsmen jut don’t seem to apply themselves to staying in when the situation requires it.

Question. Why are bowlers rarely test captains?
 
I would drop Denly, Bairstow, Ali & Jimmy will miss out injured

I would go with

Sibley
Burns
Root
Roy
Stokes
Buttler
Foakes
Woakes
Leech
Broad
Archer

Why not have Buttler keep wicket and bring in Curran instead. I must say don't rate Bairstow at all - far too inconsistent and seems too arrogant without having the talent to back the attitude up.

Ha I did double check and saw Foakes was on the list so deleted the post as your logic then made sense :D

I have tickets for the 5th day at lords hopefully I’ll actually see some cricket unlike the 4th day tickets I had for the Ireland game!

To much " wham bam " cricket in todays world, batsman have lost the art of playing in a five day test and all that means.
