The Centre Forward thread

De Kettelare offers the option of being a 10 as well if Maddison/Kulu don't hit form and fitness but then can still offer up as a 9 if they are. QuIte a versatile option to have.
He also made a move to a big club and flopped despite being a very talented player
He needs things that work for him imo
I like him but not sure if he is the right fit

I'm wondering what our loan moves, if any, will be. Last year we obviously had Palinha and Muani.

The closer we get to the window shutting I think the more likely the club will look to plug some gaps using the loan system.

Perhaps it's too early for any speculation to start.
There arent many, if any holes where an obvious loan move exists

True, but there are clubs like RM that have an Endrick. A restless player who is sitting behind the superstars and also wants first team action. We could buy RM a year, and even buy ourselves some time to pick up Kroupi.

I would go Jackson or Mikaudaze out of those options presented above.

Jackson misses a lot but i do agree with the idea that getting a high number of chances is a skill in of itself and he's a good contributer to all round play. I think we'd find a buyer for him if we wanted to move him on in a couple of years.

We’ve got Richarlison already (assuming he stays), so the ‘Gets a lot of chances but misses most of them’ position feels like it’s already filled.

I’d go after Watkins. He’s gettable at a reasonable price, is PL proven over a number of seasons, and he would be an upgrade on both Richi and Richarlison.

Agreed, swapping out Richy for Jackson would just be for the sake of something new

£40m for a 31YO? That's an expensive 12 month stop gap
If it's the difference between Champions League and Conference League it's not.

£40m for Watkins would be good - he'll score goals and link play and be a starter or second choice for three years. I'd say it's a very shrewd signing.

I think Jackson would be a big enough improvement in all round play to make it worthwile
I worry for anyone at our club in the forward line who is vulnerable to the crowd becoming completely miserable about them. Jackson feels a shoe-in for this.

Perhaps it's the standards of Kane and Son we need to realise aren't normal.
