The Case for the Attacking play

The numbers don't suggest they are capable Raz - you may hope that they will be should they improve and the system gets the best out of them etc, as do i, but it would require a massive upturn in output for them to do so.

Again, don't think it's as dire as it appears (not saying we couldn't do with a more proven goal scorer)

Richi has been able to score double figure in this side whenever he played at least 28 games, Solanke's best season for us was 9 in 27, which says fitness/availability might be the bigger issue. I think Marmoush is an upgrade on both, so agree 15-ish if he can stay fit.

Kudus/Maddison/Deki are all kind of "5 goals a season" type of players (taking account availability again, Maddison more but we won't get full season out of him).

The real question is Savio, we are depending on him to push either his goal numbers up, or put in big assist numbers.

My view remains, with 8 players capable, the coach has to figure it out

Richie is bloody good though, largely underrated and disrespected imo.

He is still the best forward at the club, despite his squad status.

AI has done the legwork so they could be off but still...

Looking at those season bests irrespective of leagues :

Maddison - 12 in league 5 seasons ago
Kudus - 8 in PL 3 seasons ago(actually did 11 in league for Ajax) done 9 for Ajax, 11 was for FC Nordsjælland 7 seasons ago in Denmark.
Savio - 9 in league 3 seasons ago, in his career he has scored 14 league goals we've paid 75-85 million for him😂
Deki - 7 in PL, 10 all comps (did 8 in PL once as well)
Marmoush - 15 in league 3 seasons ago
Solanke - 19 in PL 3 seasons ago
Xavi - 19 in league 5 season ago
Tel - 7 in league 4 seasons ago

None of them have done it consistently, and I don’t think any of them can be relied upon at all. It was why I wanted Watkins (15+ goals for five consecutive seasons).

From a goalscoring perspective, we are in very very worrying territory.

I get the concern, no question.

My question back (and too lazy right now), how does this compare to top 6 side, top 7-10 sides? does everyone else really have 3 players knocking in double figures and 1 punching in 18+ or is that really Kane/Son/Haaland/Salah territory?

Same - maybe tomorrow 😂

Arsenal do and I think that includes Gyokeres who is a weak link but will score for them
City kinda of do but their model is feed Haaland
Chelsea do now but luckily can’t defend
Pool have quality scoring options
United maybe….

I was going to start a similar topic today but work took over.

The question is, how have the football leaders at the club spent close to a national debt and come out the other side with nobody that can put the ball in the net?

Do you think they even know? It’s frightening how clueless they are.

Lankshear gone for peanuts 😱
Troy Parrott scoring against Madrid and then in the CL.

With every passing day we are made to look more and more stupid.

It’s a brickshow.

They haven’t got a clue.

I totally agree, but I would say I would expect Solanke to get double figures comfortably with RDZs system up and running if he stays fit - of course that's a big if....

I think you'd have a serious point if this were written after half a season. Deathly serious. I'd be wanting to take up cudgels too.
Or if we were dealing with an established manager of Spurs who'd been working with a settled team that was doing well and then asked for (and was given) megabucks to do an upgrade.

Fortunately, your point is not yet a wholly serious one as it can be easily categorised alongside the sweating banter merchants who quickly lunge at anything to mock & scoff.
