What a dull window it has been for Tottenham. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised after the summer revolution but I was hoping for some activity by now.

We've only raised £6m so far, so unless we can agree permanent deals for Livermore and/or BAE, I can't see us having the funds to spend.
My hope for this week is that we might sneak Dodo from Roma for LB, and will hold on to Holtby and Capoue.
Financially I don't see why we would have to sell to buy. Although we spent a lot in the summer it was all offset by player sales. So what has happened to the original transfer budget for the summer and this window? The only reason I can see for having to sell before we buy is because we wouldn't want to further increase the size of the squad, which is fair enough.

There is no facts to say that we are moving money away for the Stadium is there? part of me wishes we had not spunked the 100m in the summer on players now. Most of them are not producing and we could have put more towards a stadium build. 30m for Lamela, 26m for Soldado, 8m for Capoue. Thats 64m at least we could have kept for the stadium.

We've been selling to buy for about 6 years now (net spend actually being £10m in the black).
That's just the reality of our situation (re funding the stadium).
Our squad is actually the trimmest it has been in a long time. We actually have a pretty tight senior squad of 22 (if you discount Defoe, Gomes and the 4 out on loan - BAE, JL, BK and IF). We've got almost exactly the perfect two players for every position (based on the 4-3-3 the squad was assembled for), except we have 3 RM/RF and only 1 LB.
Vertonghen is a centre back and doesn't like playing there, the one player we don't want to **** off. Naughton is the leagues worst left back. And fryers is a young lad with no experience, a huge risk. All this not even taking into account the fact Rose isn't even good enough to be in our first 11....
I find it staggering how inept, YET AGAIN, this transfer window has been. We're desperate for a left back, if we're going to play 2 up front quite a bit we're desperate for another striker. Meanwhile we're losing some important cover in Capoue (maybe) and maybe even Holtby (maybe).
It's like the season we got Saha for Pav and got rid of Kranjcar and Corulka cover and ****ed up the second half of the season....
Agree about LB
I don't think our squad is at all set up to play 4-4-2, so I'm not bothered by strikers and am keen for us to retain all our CMs. I think now Timmeh has made his point about being the anti-AVB, he might start using a sensible formation again.
I'd compare this more with 2003/4 season where Levy may throw in a cheap short-term player (Dalmat in 03 / Berbatov maybe now?), but isn't going to do any serious work until the permanent coach's role is sorted in the summer.
Our squad is very strong IMO. It just needs protecting this week from folly (re Holtby and Capoue).
What do you mean about Tim starting to use a sensible formation again? From what I have seen so far he has played 2 up front but with one always dropping off and out and out wide player on the right with a narrow midfielder on the left. His formation seems very similar to the one that Martin Jol used. Compared to AVB's formation I think Sherwood's has us looking more likely to create goalscoring chances with the added benefit of being less susceptible to the opponent breaking quickly and getting the ball in behind.
Personally I think we can lose at least one of Holtby or Capoue without really weakening our position. They are both OK as squad players but I would imagine that neither of them really want to play this role and in that case sometimes it's better to let the players move (for the right fee) to maintain squad harmony.
I mean a formation which doesn't leave that gaping hole in front of our defence. We need 3 CMs to be able to compete with decent or well-organised sides. I don't mind Soldado and Ade being on the pitch at the same time, but to do so we really need to move Eriksen back and use Ade on the left.
I'd say Capoue is our only cover/competition for Sandro, unless Timmeh plans to bring Livermore back, which is a big downgrade.
I also think Holtby is the only player in our squad other than the two Eriks who I'd fancy to get a decent haul of assists. He needs to mature/calm down a bit, but he's one of the few creative players we've got.

Raiola adesso a Londra, è l'agente di #Capoue: il @sscnapoli prova a spingere con il @SpursOfficial, giornata che può essere decisiva
(Raiola, Capoue's agent is in London trying to do a deal (with us and Napoli), the day (which I believe was yesterday or the day before that) could prove to be decisive.

Well I think it could happen. A deal is agreed if we want it so could be done fast. That said, I dont know if we actually want it #Berba

I know some fans won't like this but I hear we rejected a bid for siggy in the week
