The 2016 Summer Olympics

Ha, ha, beaten Aussies hinting that British cycling are only winning due to drugs. Anna Meares doesn't come out outright, but says she's mystified at how British riders come from nowhere in world championships, to dominate at Olympics. Anna Meares, have a look at her, the Incredible Hulk!

It is the one reason I will never visit that country, their sports rugby and cricket are posh boy sports and the only reason they play them is to try to seem posh as a way of escaping their convict past. Pretty much every Aussie I have meet in London has had a chip on their shoulder and usually slag of the English and support Scotland and Wales as a way to "punish" the English, despite this of all the Aussies I have met in London who slagged the place off, everyone one and the must have been at least 20 all decided to keep dual nationality so they could have a British passport.

On the drug accusation at British cycling, they have had so many people leave British cycling in the last 12 years including Jamie(fcuk forgot his last name) who is now coaching in America, the have been nutritionists leave, coaches and sports scientists leave yet none of them is claiming we are cheating.

Compare that with Lance Armstrong and any one who knows that story knows people were saying he was doping from the beginning, I choose not to believe that for years to my shame. But the were people from his world that were saying it from the beginning.

I love cycling more then football though Tottenham is my biggest love, I know the history of my sport and sadly I will always have to be prepared that British cycling has been built on a lie, but I just do not see it with this lot, if someone leaves team GB one of the ones in the background and says something is going on then I will pay more attention to it then a bunch of sour losers who can not seem to grasp that you need to peak for the Olympics and not the Worlds, well certainly not in an Olympic year anyway.

The Aussies are only covering up for their terrible performance across the whole games.
Cycling is big in France and Germany and that's why they are stumped at our success in what is a minority sport over here.

The real elephant in the room when it comes to drugs is why America, who dominated track and field for years are suddenly pants. They won stacks of golds against Eastern Europe drug cheats, yet they never cheated themselves, aye right.

Well track cycling isn't big in France and Germany, I think we spotted a niche in a sport that's quite technical. I mean our bikes cost £100K each apparently. I would like to go watch something in the veledrome but seems I missed the world championships.

Dont they have regular events, couldnt see much on the net.

the US funding dried up, they've actually achieved more than they were hoping for in this Olympics

It is actually something they do in Belgium and it is an amazing event to watch I guarantee you will enjoy it and if you do get a ticket for the Saturday as a fellow yid I will buy you a beer, your allowed to drink in your seat, they also do a great pulled pork in there, honestly the worlds were amazing, I was not lucky to get ticket for 2012, did not actually see any of it live due to being in Latvia on and off most of that summer.

Well for a start, Jamaica have overtaken them when it comes to sprinting, America used to dominate sprinting. I think drugs are rife in a lot of the Olympic sport, not just track and field. I've brought up the discussion about our cyclists and how come we dominate to such an extent in a sport that is filled with drugs.

I think America have dominated the Olympics because they have an extraordinary self belief, like the Germans but 10 times more.

There writes the thoughts of a man who has never played club cricket, just because most of the commentators on the professional game are middle class does mean the vast majority of players of the game are "posh".

Your right I have not played it, it was more of a way of having a dig at the aussies then a slant on the game of cricket, although I do not like that game anyway. Nothing wrong with "posh" sports, I have always thought fencing looks like a fun sport, there is a club in Brighton that play in a Catholic church hall and apparently anyone can go along, if I ever have enough free time I would give it a go one time.

It would seem the elephant is bigger than I thought.
So flo jo and her records that no one can get near almost 30 years later, Carl Lewis being reported to have failed drug tests several times by numerous sources are just anomalies.

What really beats me up about this is the double standards. If, and personally have little doubt that it did happen, the US doped as a team to then kick up a stink about everyone else to the extent of banning a whole fudging country on the premise that if you are Russian you're a cheat when one of your athletes who has been caught and banned TWICE can compete anywhere in the world at anything is a fudging disgrace.
Those in glasses houses and all that.

Anyone who paid any attention to sport knew Armstrong was a cheat. He wasn't the first or last in cycling, but he was so good at it that it encouraged others, either to keep up with him or because he made it easy to drug and get away with it. Because he made money on an industrial scale for everyone that come into his circle blind eyes were turned.

The big one I'm waiting on is Nike, something smells with them. To many of there stars have to much baggage.

Cycling is not filled with drugs anymore, the might be some around, but cyclists are the most tested athletes and there blood is kept for ever so if any of this lot are doing anything wrong it will come out. Also the bio passport shows up any unusual performances and the cyclists are not doing anything unusual, they are just showing the common sense to peak for the main event.

For conspiracy's to survive they need to involve the least amount of people possible. The are now to many people involved across British cycling for it to be kept quiet and the coaches who have come into British cycling foreign nationals and then left again, not one of them has said we are cheating, they could make a fortune writing a book on us if we were cheating.

When team Sky started making their cyclists warming down after a stage by carrying on cycling on static bikes everyone said they were mad and stupid to do so, then the other teams went away over the winter with their sports scientists, now everyone does it at the end of a race. Team sky run by Brailsford former head of British cycling have employed cyclists from all over the world, the Colombian Sergio Henao said he learnt more about cycling after a month with team sky then he did in all his career before. He has since left sky and is racing for another team, he could come out and dish the dirt and boast his career and make loads of money.....he has not, none of the ones who have left have........

You know when it says you score by prodding the other chap with your sword, it doesn't mean what you think it means. I'd hate for you to be disappointed.

The are some very good and valid points in there, I do not think all of Russia should have been threatened with the ban, I also think that if you are caught once cheating then you should banned from all professional sport for life. I also think it should bring prison sentences for fraud and massive fines.

Read about someone getting 4th in an Olympics in Beijing and the Russian got 3rd has now been found to have doped, can you imagine how amazing it would have been for that person to stand on the podium in the Stadium with their bronze, the record books say they came third but I doubt they feel it.

There was a Swedish rower who just missed the cut for these games, so he decided to retire. Six months later a Russian tests positive and a spot opens up. He's not very happy about it to say the least.

Turns out Ryan Lochte's armed robber was actually a security guard at the gas station he and his friends had just vandalised.

At some point in the (hopefully not too distant) future, when we've cured depart, people will refer to this as the woo olympics. We'll all look back at those ridiculous people and their cupping/cryotherapy/KT tape and laugh at how backward they were.

I think as in any country there are some dopers and the US has their fair share but they've also had plenty banned e.g. Gatlin, Montgomery, Jones, Hunter, Davis, Gay, Pettigrew, Merritt etc.

Plenty of people like Johnson have condemned them as well as some of the current team. The CAS are the ones who constantly overrule lifetime bans.
