certain for Saturday or certain by the end of the window? if its taken this long to sort out i dont see why it wont drag on till the end of the window

and about his fitness. Yes last season he came in after hardly any pre season and slotted straight in. But its not ideal preparation. The lack of fitness increases the risk of injury.

If Andy Booth isn't available - then Owen on a "Saha like" deal actually is not a bad squad option, he can come in an do a job, knows the league, knows where the back of the net is. Low risk.

Following on from yesterdays report that Wigan Athletic were in talks with La Liga club Levante UD for striker Arouna Koné it is now being reported in Spain that a deal has been done for €5 million

The Spanish press are reporting that the 28 year old striker is in Wigan for a medical and to sort out the formalities. Koné, it is suggested, has turned down a host of moves to more exotic destinations, in order to follow his dream and sign for the Latics enabling him to work with Roberto Martinez. Magnificent!
