No. If he did so would all the other players at all the other clubs who have pro-contracts but only play in those tournaments.

Not really because he is clearly better than second tier games and he could point to an event that lead to him being excluded from the first team and frozen out by the club, David Bentley would have a far harder case proving something similar.

This is theoretical because it hasn't been tested in the English courts but I think that there is a chance it would succeed. I think Emirates Marketing Project's lawyers agree because I am sure that is why they took Tevez back.

And what would that event be? The end of the season? a change in manager? Surely any player could claim there is an "event" in that case. I would be highly surprised if the courts found in Modric's favour and if they did it would make any contract useless.

Why would he suddenly go public with this bid? This is more like the top clubs from Spain and Italy.

Really, mate, I think you are underestimating the intelligence of the Porto president. I dare say that he isn't so childish and petulant as to get the hump with Spurs about this unless we suddenly show an interest in Hulk.

If you think my concern is solely Portos reaction then I think you may have missed my point. Its the general conduct I dont like.

That said, he might care - he might not - same as anyone. Who is to say how they will react? Id rather not present these situations at all than not worry about them when they arise

I saw a link on Sky Sports to do with who a specific reporter thought all the top 8 teams should buy as a first choice. For us, he said Roberto Soldado stating that he plays in a similar style to what AVB played at Porto. I have seen bits and pieces of him before and he has looked decent but not enough know just how good overall he would be.

What would anyone here make of us signing him as one of our forwards?

I've read the whole thread now. Didn't realise, when posting above, that the discussion had got so out of hand and had taken the thread so far off course. So I absolutely don't want to spark it into life again!

Suffice to say that I couldn't disagree with you and affy more!

re Lloris; i'm told it literally is only a couple of million of pounds difference. there is not the disparity in price that is being reported and its not Levy doing the deal.
